Josh Hart reduced from being better than D’Angelo Russell to a trade filler...

Then, Windhorst went on 710 ESPN radio in Seattle and gave his own take on what the Lakers gave up for Davis.

“What they gave up for him potentially scandalous,” Windhorst said. “It is an unbelievable haul that they gave. Not all the details are out, but when they get out there, you’ll see well... it’s the Nets-Celtics trade part 2. It will affect them long after LeBron is out of his prime and maybe off the team.”

It's unbelievable, but Klay was Karma for KD, pushing a dude they knew was out the door on the brink of collapse to destroy his career because as far as they were concerned, he was only good for them for now...**** the team or whoever that was going to take meetings with him. Scumbags.

Very nice, very nice, very nice. Looks good for both sides based on what they want to accomplish. That’s a lot of picks to give up, but we’ll see what the protections are.

Wade
Bosh
Ray Allen
Love
Irving

and now AD plus I'm sure they'll sign another star. Crazy

Let's do a realistic assessment....
Wade : was really good for 2-3 years with Lebron but after that he had really faded. Looked very bad in that last Spurs series. Just out of gas as a player.
Bosh : a top 20 player but not a great fit with Lebron. But at least tried to change his game to fit better to Bosh's credit.
Ray Allen -- a younger Ray Allen would have been an ideal fit with lebron but Heat got Allen when he wasn't a top 50 player. He got surpassed in celtics lineup by Avery Bradley.
Love -- top 25 player but mediocre fit with Lebron
Irving -- actually a good fit with Lebron but a somewhat overrated star player who hasn't done that much without Lebron.

This all being said, I do think the 2006-7 Cavs for example had some good defensive players around Lebron and he wasn't playing with complete trash back then even if the players were limited offensively.

Davis is great but I said it previously to Celtics fans...his defense is a little overrated. But fortunately for Davis, Lebron is physically strong and that should help Davis out some.

The biggest knock on Lebron is for Lebron to be very effective on offense, he really has to play on the ball so that makes him harder to pair with other stars who are not good at floor spacing.

Prime Wade >> Klay T but Klay T is the sort of player who would fit great with Lebron.

The offer is apparently
Ball
Ingram
Hart
#4 2019
Protected 2021
Swap for 2023
Unprotected 2024

Presumably, any Lakers overpay was done for the Lakers to retain their max this year.

As crazy as it will likely be, when we find out what the later picks are and the pick swaps even after that, the Lakers are one of 2 teams(NY the other) who should do it. If you are the #1 destination market with money, you will always have FA options. Everyone else has no other choice than to use picks too.

Unless the 4th pick turns into a stud, or AD is never fully healthy again, I don't like this trade for New Orleans. I'm not a huge fan of Lonzo either. He's just a serviceable starter in my eyes. Nothing more.

This is a huge gamble by David Griffin imo.

The Lakers are the clear winners here.

And like clockwork, BI, Ball, and Hart are now being overrated.

Even if you take away that it's LA there's LeBron. He'll turn 35 in December. They had to make a move.

What else were they going to get?

Unfortunately (and I'm not sure the league can ever do anything about this) Davis and Paul screwed their chances of getting a better return.
