So Ainge didn’t go all in one a guy who was going to be a one year rental, and some of you want him fired?

For those of you wanting fireworks, that already happened 2 seasons ago. Or did some of you forget that. Ainge trades for Irving. Then he landed Hayward as a free agent.

Luck has not been on Danny’s side. Irving turned out to be an ass and ruined Ainge’s plans to keep him and go in on AD and hope to convince AD to stay with Kyrie here. Kyrie made it so bad that the fans and owners don’t want him back.

Can't say I disagree with what Ainge did or did not do. Only they know what was discussed between the parties and for all we know AD was firm in his stance about being a rental and Kyrie has already told Ainge that he is out. What was Danny supposed to do? Give up all his best assets for a non-committed AD?

Because of the garbage taste of last year, I think we are forgetting how freaking good Tatum was and still is. This is a guy who was legitimately talked as a potential future MVP, a guy who dunked on LeBron and got the best of Embiid the round before. I haven’t forgotten the way he stepped up even as our team lost to the Cavs in game seven. He was a teenager a month before that. I can’t freaking wait to see how good he can be.

Sucks to see the Lakers get Davis, but I’m no more convinced that they’re title favorites than I was when they added Howard and Steve Nash. LeBron is going into year 17. If Kawhi goes to the clippers, Lakers might not even be the best team in their own city.

Getting to the top in the NBA is insanely hard. Requires a lot of skill and luck. Danny has been brilliant and there will be other chances for big trades in the future. This wasn’t the right one for us.

I dont really want ainge fired. Atleast not yet.

But I was accountability. I want him on Friday when hes introducing the new draft picks to tell us he missed. I want him to tell us exactly why he couldnt keep Irving when he bolts July 3rd.

What I dont wanna hear is "it just didnt work out"

No. ****. ****.

Naah.
Good assessment:

As I said in the AD thread:

Prior to us miraculously making our way to the ECF last season, I was calling for Ainge to be fired. I shut up after that run, because I thought we had something going.

Then Ainge whiffed on Kawhi, held onto Rozier and Brown way too long and let this team crumble into mediocrity and straight out of title contention.

Ainge has been here 16 years and won a single title, which was 11 years ago. Oh and that title was won because his buddy gifted him KG in a trade.

I mean, how much more leeway does he need to be given? I think we’ve seen enough now. It’s time for new blood in Boston.

I kinda agree to fire Danny, but the Wiz would just sign him within 24 hours

Good, maybe they’ll enjoy decades of hoarding assets and title droughts.

I'm not so sure I'd go that far with it, our players should.and will increase in value for each of the next seasons barring injuries and you can always make another move down the line then. Keep your controlled assets, make a few upgrades, cut out some cancers and punt, it sucks but it's reality. Our best player may end up coming from this draft, things could get weird, who knows.

Did the owners imply anywhere they don't want Irving back.

Do you think they are going to come out and say that when it’s in their best interest Kyrie comes back? You don’t want let an all-star in his prime walk and get nothing in return.

They aren’t singing his praises either. Kyrie isn’t liked or respected by coaches, ownership, teammates and even some of our broadcast team.

They kissed his ass all year, from owners, to coaches to some players so he wouldn’t bolt. He threw teammates under he bus publicly and gave up on the team in the playoffs and never owned up to it.

Meanwhile, Horford apologized to the fans for the team’s performance after get eliminated from the playoffs.

The only thing that worries me more than Danny trading three picks is Danny making three picks...get ready for busts.

I guess one thing to watch out for: if Danny doesn't get fired, then that means ownership agreed with his decision not to include Tatum in the deal.
