Shams- shot: Pretty much what we have thought all along. For the team to get better, Warren, Jackson and the 6th pick would be part of trade packages.

(I still would prefer to keep Warren but more than anything - would like to be closer to .500 so if it takes moving Tony Buckets, so be it)

We are all waiting for Gambo to shoot this down.

Shams >>> Gambo.

And if the Suns do trade the 6th pick for a veteran PG - he will say "well the deal was too good to pass up so they changed their mind"

Take Ross (@legionofhoops) FWIW - but Suns might be making moves:

Dinwiddie for 6 and Jackson seems pretty step to me.

Conley - the 6 would be steep and I believe Tyler would need to opt in

Interesting to see the deal - if it does happen.

Not happening.

Gambo himself has said multiple times that we are trying to trade Jackson and/or Warren.

man if they think 4 is worth Beal, why not JJ/6/TJ?

Also if all it takes is freaking the 4th pick to land BEAL, the NBA gods really screwed us in the lottery

Yeah, I agree. I think it might be hard for him/his ego to play on a team with his best friend who makes more money than him though. If he comes here, I bet it would have to be a max (Book might even be pushing for that if he wants to get his friend paid)

It will be the max. Just won’t be a five year max. If Sarver wants to low ball again DLo will simply go to the next highest bidder which seems like it could possibly be the Wolves if they make the cap space.

I believe his max is $27.5M for the upcoming year. If we keep our draft pick, stretch Tyler Johnson, trade Josh Jackson for just cap space, renounce everyone but Kelly Oubre we should have around $29M. If we trade our 2nd round pick or get an overseas player that stays overseas, we might not have to renounce Holmes, and can just go over the cap to sign him too.[/quot

For Russell - counting on it being 27.5 - max first year. Too many teams have money and he would be a viable option to pay that rate. In the above scenario - trading Russell for Tyler/Josh. That seems pretty fair both dollar wise and from a talent perspective on the court. If you keep the FRP - and get somebody like Clarke to play the 4. Still would have - I believe - a 4.4m exception to fill out the roster.

I can see it going both ways - throwing all your eggs in one basket for a guy like Russell to really give yourself three potential VERY good players in Book, Russ and Ayton, other guys like Oubre and Bridges, Warren and some vet minimum guys. Or taking the 27.5 - get a PG, PF and a third player, shooter type to build a team with a bit more depth

If you are for signing DLo, why would you not want to give him the full 5 year max? What would be the purpose in making it shorter (unless he wanted it)?

And Gambo did kind of back track on the "6th won't be traded for a PG" or rather cleared up his tweet. Gambo was saying the 6th probably wouldn't be traded for a Chris Paul or a Mike Conley - he did say for the "right PG, not over 30" the 6th could be moved.

I still think Dinwiddie for the 6th is steep

Nets just rescinded offer to Rondae Hollis Jefferson - he is a FA. Nets want cap space and more cap space.

Doesn't Tyler Johnson have to opt-in though.

Warren, Jackson and the 6 for Conley seems like a helluva lot to me

It will take A LOT more than that to get Beal. Think about what it would take to trade Booker (if he had two years left) and start there.

I'm hoping the trades are either for Jrue or Beal. Would New Orleans be willing to give up Jrue for Beal? Maybe we can facilitate a Beal trade to NO and pick up Jrue.

But I still prefer turning 6 into 8 and 10 and then turning those two into Dinwiddie and Gordon.

Way too much for Conley, not a huge fan of the fit next to Booker but 6 and TJO would be ok, still an overpay, I would not give up a bunch of assets for taking on that massive contract they are looking to dump since they are replacing him with Ja. I think we are going to see more movement this year in the NBA as a whole trades etc, than we have seen previously I expect this week to be really active with trades picks and players... Suns and NO being very active...

You can stop wasting your time. Conley to Utah is basically a done deal.
