Thabo no, Korver is like Favors as a non guaranteed.

Trade for Conley, and go after Randle in free agency. With a healthy team, we would easily compete. Especially under Coach Quin.

You'd have to let go of Favors. I think I would for Randle, but I don't know that the FO would. They seem to have keeping Favors as a priority.

I love favors, but I would take Randle over Favors. Randle has more upside on offense and he can create his own shot. He’s also younger and his defense and rebounding has been improving each year.

A starting lineup with

1-Conley
2-Mitchell
3-Ingles
4-Randle
5-Gobert

We would be scary!!!!

Any chance we can trade for Conley and still clear enough space for Tobias? Assuming all we keep is Gobert, Donovan, Royce, and Conley?

Conley, Donovan, Royce, Tobias, Gobert as the starting lineup...? That’s a pretty damn good starting lineup if possible. Maybe keeping Favs and Ingles is better. I dunno. Just a thought experiment.

I don’t think we’d have enough money for Harris, especially if we take on Conleys contract. I think the Jazz wouldn’t want to get rid of Ingles. I wouldn’t want them to either. He’s a great 3 point shooter and a solid ball handler. I’d rather get rid of favors before I get rid of ingles

This Conley thing is starting to feel like a done deal. When it is all said and done it will mean that DL has now wasted 8 1st rd picks trying to get a pg. That is a staggering number.

Burke- 14th and 21st pick
Exum- 5th pick
Hill- 12th pick
Rubio- 20th pick
Allen- 21st pick
Bradley- 28th pick
2019- 23rd pick

That is a staggering amount of assets to waste on filling the pg spot and still not having a longterm answer. Then of course watch Conley opt out next offseason and the cycle continues.

Who would we be trading to get Conley? Do you know?

My guess is Exum, Korver, Allen, Bradley, 23rd pick and possibly Crowder.

Would you rather trade Royce or Crowder? That’s a tough decision

According to Steve Kyler, the Grizzlies are looking to clear salary and not take a lot of money back for Conley. They're trying to get off his deal. So taking him into cap space after July 1 would make sense for both Utah and Memphis. It would effectively be the Jazz's free agent strategy.

Not really a tough decision for me. I'm not a big fan of Crowder so I would much rather trade him. I feel like he can replaced pretty easily in free agency. Personally I would like to give Jabari Parker a look in place of Crowder.

That is our worst case scenario unless the griz are willing to dump him just for Exum and Korver. The last thing I want to do is not only give up assets like Allen and a pick but also absorb him into our capspace.

I would love to get Jabari, especially if he’s healthy. Crowder is a great defender and he can shoot the 3 pretty well, but I’d take Parker over him. I would rather keep Royce. He’s a great defender and he really stepped up in the playoffs this season, also very young.

Galaxy Brain trade scenario:

Waive and stretch Korver
Rescind Rubio+Udoh+Sefalosha
Guarantee Favors

= $20M Cap Room

Read on Twitter

Absorb Snell + Ilyasova ($18.4M Total) for MIL 2019FRP + 2021 FRP

Trade 2 FRP+ Matching salaries for Mike Conley

Matching salary combos:

Favors+Exum
Favors+Snell
Favors+Ilyasova
Favors+Ilyasova+Bradley
Snell+Ilyasova+Exum
Snell+Ilyasova+Allen+Bradley (I think)

and many more

Point is to absorb Ersan+Snell for picks then trade the picks for Conley. This way, we keep them as useful players or keep players already on our team who we think will be more useful.

I like this very much.

I'd be tempted to keep Ilyasova... but this is great. Someone send it to the front office!
In '03-'04, Jerry Sloan coached the ESPN predicted "worst team of all time" to 42-40.

Crowder is actually a very poor 3pt shooter. He had one good year from 3 but the rest he has been in the low 30's. He is also only an average defender. He got a reputation as a defender with Boston but he hasn't really lived up to it these last couple of seasons. If not Jabari then there are a few other wings that I think are worth a look on the cheap. I really like Rondae Hollis Jefferson defensively and think he would be a Snyder favorite because he can guard 4 positions. The problem is that he can't shoot worth a damn but if he is on the court with at least 3 other shooters it isn't that big of a deal. I also would like to take a look at Stanley Johnson who I could see becoming a similar caliber version of Crowder in a few years. Both players can probably be had for close to the minimum. I would want to try to lock them into 3yr deals though so they could be possible trade assets or just bargain contracts if either exceeds expectations.

I figured that trading two picks is easier to swallow when you get the picks from somewhere else. It's also a bonus if you get those players by absorbing contracts of players that aren't bad and would make the rotation.

I'm not opposed as a Grizz fan. Only issue is MIL can't trade their 2021 1st. 2024 is the earliest future 1st they can move and I'm not sure I'd do that if I was them. I like the creativity though.
