For some reason, even though I don't think Gambo knows anything, this seems like an odd thing for him and Nevel to just randomly make up. Especially as bad as Gambo wants a PG.

If true, JJ just lost all my trust as a GM. FFS, get someone who can improve this team.

I'd be pressed to rethink my stance on flat Earth theory if he came out and said the world is round.

I've stated before that I'd be fine signing him because this team needs talent. But I've always thought that Brooklyn being seemingly open to letting him walk this summer was a red flag.

Maybe it's that Sarver and Jones are contemplating the impact of a long term max level contract along with Booker possibly conflicting with Ayton and Bridges upcoming extensions as well as potential roster alterations, improvements ?? Money and cap space are always going to be a determining factor for Sarver I believe. :dontknow:

Maybe Suns brass are trying to make Gambo look as dumb as possible before he loses his job. That's also a possibility.

Just really weird. This, like Horford, has to mean they already have a deal in place that'll help with cap space.
If not, the Kings should cut bait and run, no?

Ok, this is getting a bit mind-boggling. Multiple players opting out of incredibly profitable short-term contracts (Butler, Al Horford, Harrison Barnes, Jonas Valanciunas) must mean at least one of:

1) it's a coincidence (meh)
2) They prefer winning to money (meh...maybe so for Horford, but Barnes? Butler? Valanciunas?
3) There is expectation of a wild market with all the available cap out there, which is bad for us with our RFA or the RFAs we are targetting.

Also wouldnt that still keep the suns from signing any other free agents. Maybe suns should instead use that same package to try and move up for Barrett or Ja themselves.

Holiday is durable compared to Warren and AD hasn’t sniffed the conference finals either. If we can pull it off with Bridges I’ll sign up.

It's 3. I think players are expecting a repeat of the summer of 2016. There's a lot of cap space available this year. I think teams will be a little more prudent this time around. It was only 3-years ago. You kind of have to be an idiot to see what that spending bonanza did to some teams.

Some of these agents are giving there clients bad advice if they think teams are going to overspend like 2016...

IF Tyler Johnson opted out - many of the Suns cap problems would be over. Maybe move Jackson if need be - but they would be in very good shape

That being said - his advisors should probably tell him to "OPT-IN". He would have to get something like 45/4 to make up for not taking the 19.4 this year

I'm not sure if all these players opting out is good or bad for the suns regarding Oubre.

This must be complete garbage. Why would Memphis give up the #2 pick(Morant) for the 4 and 6? And if NOLA wants RJ then wouldn't they trade for the #3 pick instead of 2. No way I see Memphis giving up their pick because after the 1 and 2 pick the draft is basically over.

Jackson/Johnson/#6 for Holiday

I like him as a player too. Not the 19.4 price tag. But he is the type of player off the bench good teams have. And I think he will get better.
