I thnk the only way they can do this is two things
1) Davis waives the 4m trade kicker
3) the Lakers get the Pelicans to wait until July 30 to make the trade and the Pelicans are given like Kuzma and maybe a draft pick from Houston.

Can’t they just trade Kuzma to rockets and absorb the rest of Paul’s salary?

I think it’s evident that Morey doesn’t give a crap about team chemistry. How do you not see the warning signs before giving him a max extension?

What did you expect from a guy that worships analytics?

From a bright guy who built a winner I expected some more common sense. You’d think you wouldn’t want to piss off your superstar in his prime but they were a win away from the finals so I guess he rolled the dice. If they offered him a two year max instead of four I think he would’ve still re-signed and if things went wrong he’d be easier to move.

I don’t get Burns comparing DLo/Booker to Backcourt 2000 and saying Backcourt 2000 was a disaster. It went bad because they couldn’t stay healthy, not because they couldn’t play together. If going from 27 wins to 50+ wins is a disaster, then let’s get another disaster going.

Also don’t get Gambo saying DLo plays literally no defense. He’s not good or anything, but he was about average this season and had a better DRPM than Tyler Johnson despite Johnson being considered a tough defender.

27 wins is a little misleading since that was the lock out year and there were only 50 games played. They were a playoff team that year. But yeah, backcourt 2000 was fine outside of injuries. They were both multi-time all stars by then though.

Yeah, it's weird people keep knocking DLo's D. It was bad, but this past year it was a lot better. I've seen some even knock his D and then mention Dinwiddie who was far worse defensively.

I honestly cannot think of a single team or GM that would want Paul. Even if Houston is willing to dump him for bad contracts. I wouldn't trade for him even if it meant I could get rid of a Whiteside, Hayward, Batum etc.

Like when he read "Football For Dummies" talking about McCoys blocking schmes with the Cardinals - he just kept repeating "Sam LB", "Will LB" - Zone Blocking - blah blah blah. Same thing here - he had his notes and just pushing a narrative.

Monty did face D Lo in the playoffs...and he didn't play particularly well..shot under 36% from the field on over 100 shots in 5 games. Only a few more assists than turnovers.
