Is there a legitimate chance that Ainge panics and trades for CP3?
If healthy his game would compliment Tatum well but he’s so damn injury prone.

Wall will be coming off an achilles tear and they haven't had Gortat for a while lol
I meant the current celtics being like that historical Wizards team. So if you call that generation wizards a good thing... Don't be Daft.

Yes, that megalomaniac will help with the culture issues...

I just don't know why we'd want to keep him (or why he'd want to stay) if we're going full youth movement with Al and Kyrie gone. I guess I forgot about Baynes too... my mistake there.
Nobody is trading for him lol. I wouldn’t give up anything to dump him.
I disagree, but you could be right.
It's possible someone like Miami or Sac would trade for him without us giving up anything, although we also wouldn't get anything interesting back.
Unless he and Tatum/Brown can't get along (which I'm unconvinced of) I'd hold him and let him try to show more. In a year his contract will be traceable, particularly if he gets back to being positive value.
(Positive in the sense of on court helping a team. I'd assume teams seeing him as a positive in a more holistic sense would be much more limited)

I'd switch to the 'sack Ainge' camp if he did.

I could actually see him wanting to stay now. Tons of usage available, rebuild his value and then decide what he wants to do next summer. He can use us to rehab another year, then pull an Al on us.
OK, now I'm more depressed...
Kinda where I am too.
Main thing is we work out the rebuild plan, and don't shortcut it.
If Hayward hurts that, then we try and salary dump him. But all things being equal I don't see any advantage to us in that.

Hot take time, because why not...
If we give Semi enough reps next season, he'll prove himself a legit rotation player.
If we give Yabu enough reps, he won't. We just gotta hope he hits a lucky streak with his shooting so we can trade him for more than a bucket of spit and a banana peel. Seems unlikely though.

Trade Hayward for CP3, sign Cousins for 14m/3, Mirotic for 14m/3, Satoransky for MLE/2,
PG: CP3 | Smart | Pick 20
SG: Brown | Satoransky
SF: Tatum | Little | Pick 22
PF: Mirotic | Semi | Yabu
C : Cousins | Baynes | RW3
This will probably get hate but Cousins is a passing big man equivalent to Al. He's rough around the edges but you can get him cheap and the way he played this season was his floor of recovery.
Mirotic you go for as a shooter and he has some decent defensive ability.
CP3 leads the team, has 3-shooting wings and a C that can distribute and play-off pick and roll.
Satoransky has a game that would suit well with Smart or CP3.
Pick 14 should target Little.

I think we gun for Conley and Capela. I'd love to see us keep pick 14 and take a shot on Bol Bol

Good god, boogie may be the most attainable legit piece we could use cap space on in the foreseeable future. 26 mil 1+1?

He can’t move, at least not the way a basketball player needs to.

Re: What's plan B, C, D now?
I just see article after article about the disaster locker room. Yea, kyrie was part of it, but certainly not AL.
Rozier has his issues w/ KI, and I feel everyone had issues with hayward. Say whatever you want, but he and Brad were playing footsie the entire freaking season. "boost his confidence" "get him ready for the post season", I personally think he was a trash the entire season...
So if most of this had to do with Gordon hayward, what makes anyone think the situation will be any better next season? Especially when we will be losing much more.

Re: What's plan B, C, D now?
So, logically...
Brown/Tatum are the only cornerstones, with TimeLord a wildcard. They put us around year 2 of a rebuild, not square one.
Got to find additional cornerstones with picks this year (trade up or multiple lottery tickets?) and Memphis pick. Similar position to the Olynyk/Giannis draft but with better core in the Jays.
Rest needs to be glue guys on relatively short contracts. Smart is one, Horford should have been. Can Hayward be one or is he the real cancer? These are the guys that help the cornerstones gel and develop instead of leave. Al would have been crucial.
If all that works out, we're roughly where we were when we signed Horford and missed KD. Maybe a FA will want to join the Jays by that point. But we don't want to clutter the cap before thst.
Basically an ok mid rebuild situation, on par with, say...Sacto? Atlanta? Ugh.

Plan E
Trade Hayward and 14 for Griffin, sign Vucevic for 25m/4, Rondo for 4m/2, Rudy Gay MLE/2
PG: Rondo | Smart | Pick 22
SG: Brown | Herro
SF: Tatum | Gay
PF: Griffin | Semi | Yabu
C : Vucevic | Baynes | RW3
Rondo back to Boston to spread to the shooters and lobs for big guys, Griffin to play as a secondary handler, Vucevic/Griffin as a dynamic frontcourt.
Gay can be a stable vet off the bench.
Pick 20 should target Herro.
