We a team so depleted of talent and owning future first round picks I can't believe Riley would trade the 13th pick just to get out of the tax.. I think Goran has some value around the league and Waiter is a useful player only makes 24 over the next 2 years.. (that is close to midlevel money ) The only contracts that you need to add an asset are Whiteside and Johnson.

Re: Official June 20th 2019 Draft Thread
Will not be okay with losing the 13th in any cap relief deal. Would rather wait it out.
As for the second I'm down for,
Shamorie Ponds
Ky Bowman
or a flyer on Jalen Leque
In that order
Ponds looks really crafty and good at changing speeds to create his shot and seems like a good finisher despite his size and doesn't hurt that he has a good Ast/TO ratio. I think I like him more than Carsen Edwards now.
The more I look at Edwards he is a very inefficient player, does noting but score the ball, he plays 35.4mpg and has a usage rate of 37.3% but can only manage 3.6rpg, 2.9apg with an Ast/TO ratio of 0.92 and Ast/Usg ratio of 0.49.

Shot 63% at the rim as a #1 option on a team full of non-shooters
That's good enough for me to draft him sans any other context. Says he knows how to play the game.
He's not a non-shooter either, very easy to invest in that potential

Kinda forgot about Jontay. Would be cool with him at 44 if he slipped through.

27% from college three for a wing is rough. Very rough. Even guys like Stanley Johnson and Josh Jackson shot above 35% from three at college.

It might be the biggest question mark about his game, so not sure there's a totally convincing argument but
-played with an injured hand last season
-form is not atrocious like lonzo or kpj
-ft% was not atrocious at 72%. Sadly, that would be about average for our current roster lol
-i trust players that have such great touch at the rim like he does to improve his outside shot as well

Kind of like Dion, he’s a shot maker, not a shooter. Some of it is a high degree of difficulty in the attempts too. But like Chalm said, while form isn’t perfect, it’s workable.
I think Fodor will get to work with him on it right away. The mechanics aren’t KPJ or Lonzo bad.

He just seems like a type that would never be a consistent outside shooter to me. Even Justise, who shot 40% at college, took ages to become somewhat dependable from three. Can't be a great scorer in today's NBA without a jumpshot unless you're a complete freak of nature like Giannis.
It's an unpopular opinion, but I'm far higher on Nickeil Alexander-Walker than I am on Romeo Langford and he's the only SG prospect in the draft that I wouldn't be upset about us drafting at 13. Legit shooter who can pull up and make plays for others, good length, too.

Is there really a need for conspiracy theories? Can’t it just be the fact we have no SRP for the next like 5 years and wanted in?

Because we had cash we needed to use or lose?

Kawhichael survived 25%

Can't trust everything shown at this level/especially a single season, but I'll stand by the players that show that they know how to play

I've learned my lesson not to point to outliers like Kawhi Leonard and Jimmy Butler in terms of going beyond expectations. Guys with that level of borderline obsessive work ethic are rare.
But I've been wrong on prospects before, so I guess it could happen with Romeo as well.

I don’t know , just the feeling of us doing something with the 13 pick lingers. Porter jr deserves us and we deserve him.

Otto Porter Jr. Shot 22.6% from 3-point range his freshman year in college. College 3-point shooting numbers don't translate well to the NBA, especially freshman numbers.

Because you wait to see if one of the players you are targeting are available when the pick is due.... Miami has acquired picks in the past but always during the draft never in advance

Re: Official June 20th 2019 Draft Thread
It'd be kinda funny if Riley ended up taking NAW at 13, my ass would be on the line here. I'm the only one who thinks so highly of him and sees him as a great pick for us lol
