I'm just saying we would have had max cap space because we had the Ariza one year deal and were almost certain to waive/stretch Anderson. Ariza would have opened up $15 million and Anderson another $16 or so in addition to the $10 we have. So we would be at around $40 million.
But we traded them for Johnson who had a year and we likely don't stretch and Oubre, so it wiped out what we thought would be our max cap space this year.
Now we might recreate it by dumping players but who knows?
We are so far behind those other teams because in our 5 year rebuild or whatever we only got like 3 pieces, two of which were rookies last year and will be 2nd year players. These guys are probably quite a ways away from competing from playoffs in the west even if we add a guy like DLo.
This is precisely why the draft is not the way to improve this team, we do not need anymore youth we need more top notch players to add to what we have, hence the desire to get Dlo if he becomes available. If we keep blowing off possibilities because they don't fit our timeline or other nonsense like that is ridiculous, if we don't improve the team now we don't have a timeline
Lots of ways to get and stay bad and the suns have been guilty of all of them.

So are we officially calling the McD years the Mediocre Era or the Dark Era?
