If we trade back I want Cameron Johnson... We need a good shooter and the guy is lights out from NBA 3... Most of his shoot came from way behind the line...

I don't think Miami does this trade. James Johnson is a big part of the Heat. After this summer his deal won't look so bad.

I dont know the idea makes me sick tbh. Just speculating from Kyler's report. We are currently in the tax and need to slash money.

If they really want PJ Washington, he should be there at #26. Most of the guys I want would be off at #13. I wish we could get Langford though. Oh, and I wrote this about Nickeil:

Nickeil Alexander-Walker: One of my favorites from the draft and I'm pretty biased tbh. His 3-point percentage is pretty consistent (37-38 pct over two seasons) and is good from the stripe (77%). He gets 4 ast per game. His games against FSU and Duke brought him down to earth, but man... that Miami game was a scorcher. Very competitive guy who would fit right in. And yeah, he benches Dion.

I consider him to be tier-2 talent in this draft. He's a combo guard, not a point guard.

Yeah, Bowman is reliable, doesn't get suspended, has a decent shot, hits free throws...

It wouldn't be dumb.

#26 isn't a bad spot to be in this draft. Kevin Porter Jr and Darius Bazley are likely to be available there. Both would be pretty good picks for the Heat, especially considering that you have shed JJ's salary in the process.

Clearing cap space is important for the team, it's our bet to make a push for being a contender. We are much more likely to do it that way than we are by finding a star at 13.

I don't think they do it. Using your pick to move back into nearly the second round to dump a contract you signed just two years ago would be such a bad look. Unimaginable blowback, the likes of which only seen when Iggie opies

Getting rid of JJ wouldn't even give us $5mil in cap space lol, that's how far above the line we are

Smoke = Fire huh.

I only can deal with it if we eventually open up serious cap space. Otherwise, what's the point? May as well eat another chit year of JJ and have him as a large expiring next year. Yeah, ok, we save on some tax...whoopeeee....

What? We'd be at around 53 million committed in the summer of 2020 with JJ's deal off the books and JR's deal having expired. We're at 68 million with JJ's deal on the books.

JR has a 15.6 per year deal expiring in 2020, JJ has a 15.8 deal expiring in 2021. Getting rid of JJ makes us more flexible in 2020.
