Those Carnival Cruise lawsuits must be starting to add up.

We cant trade this 13th pick for a salary dump. Such a horrible look. Even if we get the 26th

It wouldn't be dumb.
#26 isn't a bad spot to be in this draft. Kevin Porter Jr and Darius Bazley are likely to be available there. Both would be pretty good picks for the Heat, especially considering that you have shed JJ's salary in the process.
Clearing cap space is important for the team, it's our bet to make a push for being a contender. We are much more likely to do it that way than we are by finding a star at 13.
Getting rid of JJ wouldn't even give us $5mil in cap space lol, that's how far above the line we are
What? We'd be at around 53 million committed in the summer of 2020 with JJ's deal off the books and JR's deal having expired. We're at 68 million with JJ's deal on the books.
JR has a 15.6 per year deal expiring in 2020, JJ has a 15.8 deal expiring in 2021. Getting rid of JJ makes us more flexible in 2020.
Ok, I thought you were talking about this season.
Still, there's no reason to move JJ's contract now to prep for 2020. It's an awful free agent class for max/star players, and even if we did find two players worth signing, we could worry about moving JJ next summer.

Chalk this up to a bad rumor. If not i'll see you at Biscayne for the Riley washed party. I'll pick you up at airport.

That's a fair point.

A lot of us like NAW. I think he’s got some Klay-lite potential to him. He’s just rail thin and I’m not sure he has the body to fill out and he’s got no lat quickness.

Re: Official June 20th 2019 Draft Thread
I will concede that if Romeo can indeed shoot and the hand injury isn't just a lame excuse, then he's the best pick for us. Scorer with the most upside if that's the case.
But it's just...that...I'm...skeptical. He wasn't even a good shooter before the hand injury, pretty meh at high school. It'd be one thing if his FT% was high, usually a good indicator, but even that is pedestrian at 72%.

Re: Official June 20th 2019 Draft Thread
Romeo form is not a hard thing to fix or a big adjustment. He has touch and a natural motion. I think it can be fixed in a year. All he has to do if focus shooting up, not at the rim. I think the adjustment could feel very natural to him quickly.

Re: Official June 20th 2019 Draft Thread
Moving back would only make sense if we can open enough cap space this offseason. Maybe Riley has another deal lineup to get rid of Hassan's contract while taking little money back.
JJ is good locker room guy and he is coming off an injury. He could build his value up this year. I don't think the Heat are so desperate to get rid of him. Remember even if the heat are in the luxury tax you have until the end of the season to slash your payroll.

I agree. I wonder if Riley is waiting on this deal to see if he can indeed dump Dragic and Whiteside for peanuts.
Some of you may be upset by a trade like this, but if there is anything that we have established in these draft threads...this is a very muddled draft with not a lot of separation in the mid and lower parts of the first.

He was 36% three point shooter in high school without torn ligament in hand. He's got workable mechancis unlike the dude from USC who shoots like he's trying out for shot put olympics.

36% isn't good at high school level though.
Anyway, we'll see how it goes with Romeo. I hope I'm wrong on him, be it with the Heat or elsewhere.
