2019 2nd Round Options

Post#1 » by Lakers24gm » Wed Jun 19, 2019 3:51 pm

With the rumors of Lakers looking to acquire some 2nd rounders I've been looking at some possible options.

1- Daquan Jefferies - 6'5 SG/SF thick dude. Can shoot the ball pretty good. Little older so may be able to come in right away and help.

2- Carsen Edwards - 6'0 PG Straight up shooter. Can play off the ball and space the floor.

3- Zach Norvell - 6'5 SG. Streaky shooter but when he gets hot watch up. Not big enough to play the 3.

4- Daniel Gafford - 6'11 C. Shot blocking center. Can run the floor and decent finisher.

5- Naz Reid - 6'9 C. Big who can shoot a little. Worry about the defense.

Couple names I like who might be late 1s or early 2s.

Yeah we worked him out too. I'm hoping for him.

I realize we need depth but the idea that we can find a true rotational player on a team looking to win a title now is really hoping for a lightning strike. I'd look for a 4 year guy who has some level of maturity and is at least serviceable.

well now that we have young unknown withdrawals, I'd like Tacko for immediate D and a longshot with giant upside with two 2nd round picks to be our intrigue of the future.

I be ecstatic if we could get a guy like Nance. Arguably he was as good day one as when we traded him. He was a 4 year guy and had a full fundamental toolkit. A super tall guy who has a limited fundamental toolkit is a hard translation I'd think.

Anyway, if we can get one guy who can play in the rotation on his own value and not because we have no one else it will be a successful draft.

Initially I like Bol if we keep the number 4 pick. But if we manage to get a 2nd round pick then Tacko Fall is a good choice as I strongly believe that we need a legit C in this team.

Since we are not expecting any real rotation players to come from whatever 2nd round pick we have, we might as well gamble on upside. I would look at Darius Bazley and Jontay Porter. Both guys have high potential but will take some time to develop before they can play meaningful minutes. Perfect fit for this team.
