Re: So who will be BPA and 8 and 10?
The AthleticWhich NBA teams are best-suited to unlock Cam Reddish’s potential?
Cam Reddish may just be the most enigmatic player among those considered lottery picks in this year’s NBA Draft. There exists a pervasive opinion that Reddish didn’t show off his true self at Duke. He scattered impressive snapshots during the season. On more than one occasion, different scouts remarked that Reddish could end up with the best NBA career among the Blue Devils’ Big Three.
Here’s a look at three teams where Reddish might fit best:
Atlanta Hawks (8th pick)
It’s quite possible that Atlanta is only just beginning to plot after making a Taurean Prince trade with the Brooklyn Nets. Are they trying to package some of those picks to move up? Trade for a veteran? Who knows?
All things being equal, the eighth pick is the most likely spot for Reddish. With a young core that includes point guard Trae Young, power forward John Collins and shooting guard Kevin Huerter, the Hawks could use a wing like Reddish to help round out the lineup. With the Prince trade, they also no longer have a true small forward.
Atlanta is trying to pattern its personnel makeup after the Golden State Warriors and could use a versatile player like Reddish, who can defend multiple positions and provide perimeter shooting. He’s a better playmaker than he showed at Duke. He just wasn’t put in many situations where he was asked to do so. With the way general manager Travis Schlenk wants the Hawks’ ball movement to mimic the Warriors, Reddish could be the perfect plug.

So is it just me or am i seeing alot of people linking us to Hayes at Center for the 8th or 10th pick. Which to me doesn't make a ton of sense as i would think he is the closest to a capela type of center in this draft which is good defensive guy but very little shot making ability besides down low. I don't see him fitting our offense based on what LP said he wanted from our centers which is being able to stretch the defense and making 3's at a pretty solid clip. That is not Hayes game at all if im not mistaken and don't see why people keep linking him to us so much unless they just don't know what we require from our centers.

My take is that there are A LOT of copycat mockers out there who are not actually engaged in publishing a thoughtful, informed draft, but mainly just looking at what others have published... then, maybe reading the rationales and thought "yeah, that sounds right... Hawks obviously need a defense-first 5 if they have an offense-first 4."
For those of us who keep up and read what clues we gain into the psyche of Schlenk, picking Hayes would be violently inconsistent with what has been said.

Thats what i think as well but watch it go and happen for some crazy reason anyways XD Which i wouldn't hate i like Hayes quite a bit and am not against that type of center as long as we can make it work but i much prefer Bol Bol and Golga as my center choices for our team.

That Bol Bol isn't going to make it.
7'3 with with bad feet, frail, soft game. He will not last long I fear.

For the 10th to 17th pick i think im willing to give it a try though because his upside is tremendous like only behind Zion in this draft probably. Would much prefer to get him at 17 though and go elsewhere at 10 if we can.

I'd pick him at #17, not #10.

Considering Goga fell to #18, as did Nas and KPJ, I'd have been more than okay trading back with Indy and picking up Aaron Holiday for our troubles.
(How did WAS at #9 or Phoenix at #11 not jump at this deal?)

A: The Hawks likely would have traded down. I had heard Indiana wanted to move up to No. 10 prior to the draft. The Pacers were going to offer Aaron Holiday in a deal with the 18th pick. It would have given the Hawks a young backup point guard.
I know Atlanta really liked Goga Bitadze and Sekou Doumbouya, but I don’t know if the Hawks would have selected them at 10.
