Wow! I've seen people compare his shooting stats favorably to Bogie. No idea how he is on defense, but this seems like a good pick-up for the Pacers. Another shooter.

Wondering if this affects Thad's status with the team?

I'm ok with this

I'm happy paying TJ Warren $11m over paying $18m for Bogey; I rate them both as being in about the same tier, but I think might prefer TJ Warren a little bit more overall, so paying less for a better player, sounds like good news?

Early reports are that TJ is projected to play small ball 4 here, so Bogey might still be the focus and Thad gone.

Also, Caitlin Cooper just happened to write up a TJ Warren story this morning that is worth reading!

Interesting

Curious though, would you prefer to sign Bogey, or would you prefer to try and sign someone like Julius Randle with whatever money Bogey would command

Hard to say. I’m wide open mentally this summer.

Weird move. Injury prone player, weak rebounder for a 4, eating up our cap space for free agents.

I guess the Pacers already know that only the Ellis/Tyreke free agents want to join the Pacers again so they take the gamble for another pick.

If we can use that pick to move up in the draft or get a good player, it might be worth the risk ya. 8-)

that's my guess. Thad goes. Damos big 4. TJ small 4.

With $31m remaining in cap space, we can still theoretically sign someone like D'Angelo Russell to the max ($27m), with a few mil left over to sign someone like, say Lance, I think

Though that would mean filling out the rest of the roster with draft picks, MLE, and minimum contract vets, which will probably make for an abysmal second unit

Myles, Javale McGee (minimum contract)
Domas, Leaf
Warren, Doug
Vic, Lance
Russell, Holiday

Can we still give Domas his big contract then?

I assume the big name free agents are already off our target list by making this move, perhaps still the Bobos or Rubios.

Value move. You aren't signing a TJ Warren type player for 11 million in free agency.

I'm seeing $34.8m left, with a Bojan cap hold of $13.65 not being taken out of that. So yeah, lot of flexibility, but NO MLE.

If you use cap space, you lose the MLE. Just the smaller Room exception of $4.7m after you use your cap space. No BAE either.

Wow, we got Warren and the 32 for cash? That's a slam dunk. I just went out to walmart and boom a deal happens.

The guy that I've been watching drop is Kris Wilks. But I think he could be gotten in the 40's. He's the Indiana native who I mentioned the other day.

This Warren trade is much better than I expected. I said I'd do the 18 for Jackson, never thought they'd do this.
