I was worried about Miles lateral quickness coming in, but after last season I don't think its an issue. Its not great, but he had some nice flashes when getting switched onto quicker players or even just being intentionally matched with them by Borrego later on in the season as his defense improved.

I think people criminally underrate the defence of Miles.

I don’t get it.

Yeah, his only big issue last season was awareness and just making lots of rookie mistakes. When he would get beat it was usually because he'd bite on some kind of move from a savvy scorer, but he was really good at using his explosive leaping and recovery speed to get back into plays when he'd get beat.

Sure, sometimes really quick guys would leave him in the dust, but that literally happens to about any player in the league when trying to check some of these amazing scorers there are in the league today.

Boston can’t want all those rookies in at once can they?
Love to get Goga or Samanic in here

Good point. I hope PJ turns out to be a gem and he can start at PF from day one. Then you can move Marv to backup center and it balances out both units. I'm warming up to this pick honestly. Some of my favorite draft analysts had PJ as one of the most underrated prospects in the lottery and I've seen him ranked as high as top 5.

Kemba/Graham
Bacon/Monk
Miles/Batum
PJ/MKG
Cody/Marv/Biz

I really like that setup if we find a good backup PG somehow (I think Graham is crazy overrated on this board).

It Hornets fan base tradition to claim their newly drafted rookie will start over one of their mediocre starters only for them too average 5 min a game/DNP and not be seen till we are essentially eliminated from playoff contention.
Your Charlotte Hornets! We’ll eventually get something right;right?

So true.

The only times he really got beat was when he got “surprised” and was caught off guard (rookie lapses that need to be tightened up in time) - but when defending man on man his D was awesome.

He literally defended 1 through 5.

New Orleans have had an outstanding draft IMO.

Love the Hayes pick for them.

Ow NAW as well.

Plus that Williamson kid (who might be ok).

It would be a hard choice for me at #36 if Samanic, Obeisie and Bazley are there at that pick

I still can't get over that Phoenix/Minnesota trade. I remember a couple years back reading a post on here where someone was talking about how they used to think Saric was good until they saw him play in a live game and they were shocked at how terribly awkward and out of place he looked moving around an NBA court and I assumed they were just being weird.

I saw him play live for the first time last season and after a few minutes of watching him helplessly waddle around I totally understood. I've never experienced there being such a large discrepancy between how good someone seemed watching them on TV vs. in real life. I don't think he even belongs in the NBA and somehow he got Minnesota the 6th pick...

Marv/PJ

Need a backup PG (I'm praying so hard for Rubio ya'll have no idea)
Need a C (should be some solid options later in the draft and you know Borrego will be playing PJ at center a lot)

I'd try like hell to trade back into the 1st for Goga Bitazde and sign Rubio with the MLE.

Kemba/Rubio/Graham
Bacon/Monk
Miles/MKG/Batum
Marv/PJ
Cody/Goga/Biz/WHG

I'm fine with Graham being our backup he showed me enough last year that he good enough to carry the load with the 2nd group.
