Romeo Langford Thread

I'm stoked.

I wanted him, we got him.

A 2-way wing with size whose skill nicely blends with Jaylen's off-ball, transition game and Tatum's mid-post, spot-up game.

It'll be nice to have a guy who can finish and get to the line, we've struggled with that a lot the last few years. Hopefully his shooting in college was just from the thumb.

Ugh--the C's picked a wing who shot 27% from the 3 and whose toughness was questioned? While Goga was still available?

He's a classic Ainge pick. Top 5 RSCI prospect coming out of high school who fell because of a disappoint frosh season.

And he's got toughness - very physical paint finisher who can and does body up bigger players.

Grant Williams is a classic Danny pick.

He played the whole season with a torn ligament im his shooting hand lol, jeez.

Tyreke Evans is who he reminds me most of, though like Slart, i see some Jrue Holiday. I would sig bet anyone that this board will LOVE him by January.

He played with injured thumb. He may not be a lights out shooter but he was a great scorer in HS. Ainge made a solid pick.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

I like the pick he had a hand injury which effected his shot. He has star potential a true 2 guard, yes we have a glut at this position but he is something we dont have

I'd much prefer Bol.

A shooting guard who can't shoot? We have that his name is Marcus Smart.

Smart had a 56% TS last year.

Or do we?

Nah. Just checked, we still do.

I don’t like the pick but I’m probably wrong.

And you can't tell me you don't throw up a little in your throat everytime he takes a three.

Not this past year, he was good enough from 3.

He checks all the boxes of a guy Ainge loves in guards:

1. Competitor on both ends
2. Good length, pro body / strength
3. Highly rated out of HS
4. Can get his own shot

Beyond that, the kid gets FTs, which I LOVE. I really think there is upside to his shooting after playing with the torn ligament in his hand. Look at Brown's shooting splits before/after his hand got healthy. That stuff matters.

He's not super explosive but if he can hit the 3 I think he's got some real Eric Gordon in him (not to be lazy with the Hoosier connection :)).

The physicality as an interior finisher combined with his pull-up, PNR game is a potentially wicked offensive combo.

I really like how he combines with Jaylen and Tatum. All three with quality size. A good wing rotation there.

Any idea what his 3FG% and FT% were in high school?

Romeo has always remind me of Courtney Lee somehow. A player I hated when he was on the Celtics because of his poor defense. Are they the same size? I hope Romeo turns out to be a better player though. Stevens probably likes him and will use him a lot if he is not traded. I liked Keldon Johnson better. He is a bigger Avery Bradley.
