Re: 2019 NBA Draft
We just gotta switch to zone D now so Matisse can be our 9th man.

Glad he's gone and we saved $1M, but it should have been one of next year's 2nd round picks. This year we need someone to fill out the bench.

Hopefully this round will be 1/10 of the length of the first round.

You are talking about filling up a bench, not a rosterFlyingArrow wrote:cool93 wrote:We weren't going to have 3 rookies in the rotation. Zhaire is basically a rookie + Thybull + 34 pick. Bolden is still learning. There is no place for more young players.FlyingArrow wrote:

Yes because "messageboard gm's" obviously know way more than folks who have been In the game for several years right?
Maybe you're new to being a Sixers fan or just the NBA in general. We've picked Jahlil Okafor, Markelle Fultz, TLC, Korkmaz all in the first round in the past 4 years and they are garbage. So, yea, I'll value my opinion over the "folks who have been in the game" because it's all a crapshoot anyway.
Oh right, So every other team gets their picks 100% right with no busts apart grom us? Thank you for clearing that up Mr Draft genius
What are you talking about? I'll just take the compliment and move on. Thank you.

Terence Davis satiates shooting, defense, athleticism, and scoring without trading up. You can have it both ways. That's the whole point of why this is stupid.

Exactly. One blunder after another, but we should trust them. I’ll add just last year J Simmons, the Greg Monroe trade, the Tobias trade overpay, tipping their hand on Thybulle, bringing in the dead weight of Boban as a throw in, letting Amir take up a roster spot......

I agree. This has Brett's fingers all over it. He doesn't want to roll with rooks anymore which is a bad mentality to have given our soon to be nonexistent cap space.

I was not following the draft. Why is nassir little slipping a surprise? The guy’s numbers is awful

Agreed on everything but Boban. Boban is a good backup against the right matchup. I hope they bring him back as the 3rd string center - but they desperately need a 2nd string center.

Re: 2019 NBA Draft
Why not wait to see who's available at pick 42 before giving it away to save 1 mil in cap space?

It's very easy to point out the picks that failed and act like you know it all. That's what I'm saying.

Re: 2019 NBA Draft
Between Zhaire, Bolden, this year's picks and maybe some stash players like Lessort we have enough cost controlled players who we can develop and give some minutes. You can't really have 7 of those guys on the roster.Black Mage wrote:cool93 wrote:We weren't going to have 3 rookies in the rotation. Zhaire is basically a rookie + Thybull + 34 pick. Not feeling great about Elton after tonight. Consistently overpays in trades and makes unforced errors

Fully expect us to sell #54 to line Harris' pockets as well. So #34 is it.

I disagree. I think in the 90s and 2000s, you couldn't have enough of those guys.
I'm today's game, if you can't put points on the board, you get dusted.
With Zhaire and Matisse in our top 8, we're losing the math battle.
Hmm good point.
Maybe i should rephrase it and say.. you can’t have too many of them around Jojo, Ben, Butler and Tobi.
