Agreed. Lin is cooked at this point. I'm happy he got a ring but his competitive career is over

Yup, one of the worst injuries in sports. You're never the same after that, it's worse than Achilles (far more painful from what I understand as well). I'm a Giants fan and watched the end of Victor Cruz after that injury. Sucks.

any basis for this? His ATL numbers looked fine, granted I didn't watch a single Hawks game. Not beating out FVV or Lowry is a negative.

Pre-injury, Lin was much more explosive driving to the hoop. That was why he was so good for us because it was a constant Kemba or Lin drive to the hoop fest. He can’t really do that effectively anymore.

You're going to hate me for this but the numbers don't bear that out either, his shots near the rim maintained frequency and the percentage is there. I really think a narrative took hold here that doesn't match the reality. He was in NBA Siberia (similar to how LAL players have looked better in more functional systems) or backing up the runner up Finals MVP. I think he's rehabbed mostly fine and at the minimum is worth a flyer.

Hey guys, have you heard any whispers on whether there's any interest in bringing in Arnoldas Kulboka for the next season?

I wouldn't be surprised since he's cheap and the team is hurting for cap space. If he proves to be a contributor during the summer I'd expect him to spend some time stateside

Yeah I think the only thing we've heard is he's not on his Euro team anymore, but I'm hopeful he comes over.

Kemba/Martin/Graham

Miles/Batum
PJ/MKG/Mcdaniels
Cody/Marv/Biz

Thats putting a lot of faith in PJ being able to start, but I think it balances things nicely because then we don't have to play Biz or WHG at all.

might have the Arnold dude (thats his name, right?) come over from Europe too. We really have a lot of wings/PF's now

I would do this.

Kemba-Graham
Bacon-Monk
Miles-Martin-McDaniels
PJ-MKG-Nic
Cody-Marv-Biz

* PJ sometimes plays C
* Martin sometimes plays PG
* MKG plays over Nic, we need defense/rebounding on the 2nd unit.

A lot of versatile wings/bigs on the roster. hopefully they are good. basically the whole team is over 6-7 besides Kemba/Graham and Monk.

Need to trade Nic to find a better SG .

Who did you want us to draft? I don't really like the Cody Martin pick and I also understand how people could not be very excited about PJ Washington, but Sekou Doumbouya was the only player available at 12 that I felt strongly about preferring over Washington. There were a couple others I would have slightly preferred, but not enough to really care that much.

I forgot about our Euro stash.

I'm not very confident at all that Graham is anything more than a 3rd stringer who will probably be in Europe after his rookie contract.

I went into the draft wanting NAW as we need more guard depth. When Sekou was available I wanted him as we could use a high potential guy that could finally break us out of the mold. PJ is a fine player I’m sure but he changes nothing about the team. Still have a unexciting young core still have paper thin guard depth with one actual baller handler. Not to mention, we already have like 14 front court players

Free agent list.

Potential PG's I'd look into
I'd sign Lin or Rubio for MLE. TJ McConnell

Potential C's i'd look into
Boban, Noel. Honestly, of the guys we can afford I'd try to keep Frank.

How much cap do we have?

Trade Nic for a SG.

I was in a similar boat. Wanted NAW when I didn't think there was any chance of Sekou being there. I wish we would have taken Sekou at 12 and then traded for another 1st to take NAW, Goga, or even Grant Williams.

I also really wish that we would have tried to move from 36 to 31 to take Claxton.

I'm not even sure if we have the MLE to be honest. We might only be working with minimum contracts.

So, based on nothing and also not sure this is possible.

Nic and Willy for Wiggins (rumored to be interested) and future 1st.
Sign Rubio for MLE. If we dont have it get McConnell, he should be cheap.
Sign Frank, or someone similar. Motiejunas?

Kemba-Rubio-Graham
Wiggins-Monk-Bacon
Miles-Martin-McDaniels
PJ-Marvin-MKG
Cody-Frank-Biz

Feel like thats a pretty good well-rounded team. Not sure about the Wiggins trade though, feels gross but Nic is grosser maybe. Any other SG's on less terrible deals?

I like that the GM already talked with Washington about playing in the g league.

Good that the NBA is moving closer to an MLB player development model.

Hornets can upgrade rim protect and create space for new front court players.

Trade:

Gilchrist, Williams, Biyombo, and Monk

For

Whiteside and Ryan Anderson

Post Kemba new regime re-organizing.

And Whiteside wants to play for the Hornets.
Need meet want.
