Okeke has an ACL injury not the achilles. He is exactly 20 years old, He'll be playing December or January.

Possible that Woj and shams had no idea who they guy was too.
What I read is that he could be ready in January but more likely February or March.

He might be a little bit more of a natural scorer but not by much. If you watch the highlights they literally play the same way. Good defenders, no in between game, can't create, straight line drives and gets their points in the paint or at the 3.

Yeah, I don't know how you don't see this and don't get AG vibes.

I get more Tobias vibes than AG. Okeke pulling up off the dribble and shooting 39% from 3 puts him in a different category (not necessarily better) than AG.

Okeke doesn't really pull up off the dribble that often, when he does just like AG it's a quick move. Okeke doesn't create like Harris nor does he handle like Harris. Okeke doesn't have much of mid range game. Okeke is definitely a 4 while tobes is more of a 3.
No mid range game is probably why analytics likes him. Either shoot a 3 or take it to the basket.

Don't know anything about him. Seems we went bpa which is fine by me but am a bit surprised we didn't take NAW. His name is awesome.

I've spent my morning watching and reading everything I can about this Okeke guy. I don't follow College ball at all so after my crash course my verdict is that I'm very happy with the pick.

Abolsutely great pick by the front office.

Nice outside shooting form, to go with fundamental length, iq, athleticism, character. Risk with the injury, but that is the only reason we had a chance to draft him. Love it and think people will quickly grow to love his high iq game.

He reminds me of several of the raptors player profiles, ie Danny green, active hands and good shooting, but Okeke actually has more upside and more to his offensive game. Great pick. This one is going to pay dividends, assuming smooth recovery.

I do think it’s interesting and encouraging that the Magic were willing to pick what amounts to a redshirt player with a playoff roster. I know they say he’ll play this year, but I’m sure they’ll be very patient with him. Regardless, I like the fact that they didn’t opt for the player most likely to help them win now and instead stuck to a BPA mindset.

Okeke is really good. I think he has the 3PT shooting, defending and rebounding chops to be a legitimate stretch 4. Great skill set for the modern NBA.

At worst he feels like a rock solid 3&D role player at the 3/4 and is a clear upgrade over Jarell Martin.

Now his fit with the Magic long-term is a little less clear with Gordon and Isaac here, but that isn’t a question they’ll have to answer for a little anyway while as Okeke recovers from his ACL tear.

I did have Grant Williams higher on my board, but Okeke’s skill set probably translates better to the pros.

The 7 biggest sleepers in the 2019 NBA Draft - sbnation.com (from before the draft)

https://www.sbnation.com/2019/6/20/18678138/nba-draft-sleepers-2019-grant-williams-chuma-okeke

1. Chuma Okeke

Okeke, an Auburn forward, was having the game of his life against North Carolina in the Sweet 16 when he tore his ACL. It’s a devastating injury that will set back the start of his NBA career.

But his performance in that game is also the reason Okeke is in this draft. As scouts went back to look at his tape, they saw a 6’8 combo forward who feels like an ideal fit in today’s NBA.

Okeke has an advanced feel for the game that translates on both ends of the floor. Defensively, he has the size, quickness, and technique to guard up to three positions in the NBA. He put up monster block and steal rates this season as a sophomore, and has value not only at the point of attack, but also as a help defender.

Offensively, Okeke hit 39 percent of his threes and was an efficient scorer on a variety of play types, according to data from Synergy Sports. He finished in the 91st percentile of half-court scorers, in the 81st percentile in transition, and graded out as “excellent” on cuts, post-ups, and in limited isolation opportunities.

Okeke has lottery talent for a player who should be available late in the first round. He’s a prospect worth being patient for.

Skillset wise i think Okeke/Isaac, Okeke/Gordon is much better than Gordon/Isaac. I was high on Williams but man i missed this Okeke kid. He is longer than Williams much more fluid with better off the dribble game, not mentioning shooting. I think he will be perfectly fine playing 3/4 from the bench and in the future he has good chance to start.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

There’s nothing to lighten up to or for. I was simply just demanding more of your quality, in-depth, unbelievably detailed analysis. Not sure why you’re so triggered :D
