Is this a rumor? I personally don't love it, mostly bc I can't imagine we use the cap space the way I think we should But, that would be good value. I dont know what team is willing to take him on for just #37 though. Seems like average value.

You're probably right about that.

I still don’t expect to keep #37, but if we do and he is there... Matisse Thybulle would be a steal

Hawks traded Luka Doncic for Trae Young and Cam Reddish.

I like the future of both teams.

So what are the Mavs getting back from the Pistons in the deal for #37 overall?

[Stein] Dallas acquires the No. 45 pick tonight as well as two future second-rounders from Detroit for No. 37, league sources say

Hopefully he’s thrown into a trade this summer. We have no need for him

Prototypical 3&D guy. Like another Justin Jackson. I like the pick if he stays. We trade back for him and we get 2 extra 2nd rounders. Luka will make these guys look good.

Roby is a possible DFS replacement. Should some team offer him a crazy amount.

I think Mavericks had a good draft - got 2nd rounder they wanted, and what's more, a guy that both makes sense in context of the team, so he could be a long term fit and who has pretty nice upside due to his athleticism, while being a good defender and having some on ball skills.

Also, Dallas got J. Reaves as an undrafted FA - 6'5 combo guard, good defender with pretty good IQ on both ends of the floor, and a good 3pt shooter - which makes him a pretty good fit potentially.

Also, they snagged two future 2nds from Detroit, and if one of them is in 2022, that would be a coup ("double draft", when one and done rule is over with), but even if it is not, some additional assets from team as volatile as Pistons is always welcome.

We are undoubtly quiet on the undrafted pool this year. It means we need every penny we could get. Be it for Kemba or another max free agent.

Any other year, Donnie would have been shopping on the undrafted pool already. This year is different. And it tells us something.

He’s likely a G league stash for a couple years so I wouldn’t get my hopes up.

Pretty much the next Justin Anderson for us. Kostas, Spalding, Macon all ahead of him in terms of development and even those guys look like high schoolers playing with real NBA talent. even Spalding got cut so it wouldnt surprise me if we did the same to him if we need roster space.

This summer is bent on getting a Kemba Walker to come in. Should we miss out on that, we'll probably do a soft tank next season as we own our pick next year. Then try again for someone like Demar Derozan next summer.

You guys do realize that Kemba coming to Dallas goes against everything Dallas should do with Doncic right?

Return to Dallas Mavericks
