Welcome the newest Blazer Nassir Little.
Height - 6'4.5" w/o shoes, 6'6" w/ shoes
Weight - 224 lbs
Wingspan - 7'1.25"

Project wing who, IMO, most resembles Jaylen Brown. 2 Wings with freakish athleticism, similar height and length. Both underachieved their freshman years, and both shot sub 30% from 3. I'm hopeful that we see the same type of trajectory in Little that Boston has seen with Brown.

The first Trail Blazer to ever be born in the 2000's decade. And that really makes me feel old.

I watched 4 UNC games and came away pretty unimpressed. Seemed like the classic, getting by on athleticism player a là Alonzo Gee...

Hope I'm wrong though! Welcome to Portland. Hopefully you're in a gym working on your shooting as I write this!

Love his intensity and defensive instincts, if nothing else. Reminds me a lot of a very raw Aminu. Hopefully Dame and CJs 3 PT shooting will rub off on him and we could have something interesting.

His highlight video reminds me of a black Jake Layman.

Okay Pie in the sky comparison... He’s got highlights that remind me of our most recent finals MVP. Obviously he not likely to ever get to that level but... he can really finish through contact at times...

Bottom line for me is it appears he has significant "talent" and is a wing which we need and hence should not hesitate to take a chance on. I mean a guy like him at #25 is likely better than we could have hoped for, its always a crapshoot later in the draft, his situation a NC perhaps was not as good for him as it may have been, we have a chance at a top 10 talent with him at a position of need - can't really ask for more. And still would not be surprised if he is traded.

He reminds me more of Gerald Wallace than any of the other names being thrown out. Although if he turns into a guy like Alonzo gee or aminu or harkless that’s a good pick at 25. Just too much talent to pass up at that point. His height was probably the reason he dropped combined with his shooting. But he’s got workable tools and probably the most athletic wing we’ve had since crash

For the Blazers to get this much potential at #25 is a straight up steal. This was the #2 player coming out of high school....rated above Zion at the time. He is a hard worker with a great motor and has already put in time since the end of his college season to work on his 3-pt shot. At one point during Draft combine drills, he hit 16 in a row. Can any of us imagine Harkless or Aminu doing that in the same drill?

In college, he allow .35 PPP in the paint. He just does not let people score easily due to his athleticism, length and strength. Of course he won't have as much of an advantage with those things in the NBA but it's a good foundation to built on and at #25, I'm not sure what more you could ask for. To get a player who very realistically could be a rotation player and even a starter down the road that late in the Draft is a win in my book.

Nice interview. NO always seems like a pretty legit guy. Very cool the way he spoke about his draft day relationship with Allen.

LOL...makes YOU feel old?? You're a youngster

I had orthopedic supports in my shoes before Little was born, and back then, I had a lot more hair and a lot less belly

Simons seems to think Little's shooting has already gotten better

Prior to the draft, Little and Simons crossed paths during one of Chris Brickley’s scrimmage sessions. According to Simons, Little has gotten better at spacing the floor since they last faced each other. “His shooting has improved. I noticed that when we played—he shoots the ball really well now.”

Yeah I don’t see any reason to be down on this pick until his on-court performance gives us a reason.

I wish... but he doesn't have anywhere near the ball-handling. Little's ball-handling is really rough to watch. Kawhi improved as a handler, but was ALWAYS much smoother than what Little has shown.

Yea, I think Harkless with a better jumper is a reasonable hope for upside. Kawhi Leonard is likely impossible. Kawhi Leonard was much further along offensively by the time he was drafted. Gerald Wallace with a more reliable, slightly more dynamic jumper is a pie in the sky. So fringe all-star. Wonderful pick, and great gamble, however it works out. But I don't see the Kawhi comparisons at all.

It's clear Olshey is trying to find players that can get the basketball. We got hurt on the boards against Nuggets and beat by Warriors because we couldn't get the ball. I expect Olshey will prioritize rebounding over shooting with our MLE. It's going to be tricky because we need shooting in absence of great playmaking to space the floor.

No, no, no, no... I'm not a youngster. 18-year-olds are youngsters. I'm probably 2 decades behind you in age (I'm in my mid-40's). But that's not a youngster. :P

I still remember watching Michael Jordan play in his rookie year. I remember Game 7 of the 1984 Finals. Basically watching the NBA that long and seeing someone born in his century/millennium (along with others drafted last night) makes anyone who's been watching the NBA for about 30 years feel old.
