The heat has an FRP next year right?

It’s this hedging, purgatory that has me concerned. We know what a team led by JJ, Dion, Goran and Hassan gets us. 9th seeds.

Turn the keys over to our young guys, for Christ sakes. Justise has shown enough to think he may have another level to go to. It’s gonna be his 5th year...it’s time we know what we have.

Hoping like all hell that Pats words are just rhetoric, and we’re gonna see a steady dose of the kids this season. They aren’t really kids anymore. They’re ready. This is their team now.

This Bol backlash is such a head scratcher to me.

Dude was not picked in 33 picks. Works in a league where bigs rarely works out. Only made 9 college games before breaking down. Farts in interviews. Maybe 3 teams in the league didn't pass him over. We missed out on nothing here. We got 2 rotation players on a team with a focus on acquiring free agents to lead them.

Herro wasn't my pick, partly because I thought Miami generally went with long players (more like KZ) but he does look like a perfect compliment to Justise PG, so I'm good.

Bol farting was from a fake Woj account. That ain’t real lol.

I get the concerns are real with Bol. But it would’ve been fun to see if he can put it together. He’s a unique package, and I would’ve liked to have seen us take the risk and back ourselves in to develop him into something. He has talent.

If ends up being a player for Denver, it’ll sting pretty hard.

I was worried about Herro's defense but watching more of his full games he's a hard working defender, rarely takes possessions off defensively and what he lacks in wingspan he makes up for in anticipation and quick lateral movement. He seems to have long legs which helps him stay in front of people. Herro/JRich/Winslow/Bam are going to work really well together.

KZ Okpala looks really nice. He is raw, but I think he will be a good slasher and serviceable shooter at the SF position, He has the body other great 3 and D players like Ariza, Covington and Otto Porter like Feel_The_Heat mentioned but I think once he works on his body and goes through Miami's conditioning he could maximize his potential as a really good 3 and D player who has the ability to take guys off the dribble.

Like both of our picks I look forward to seeing what Herro can do with the ball in his hands more and more spacing on the court in summer league. It's a shame we won't see KZ in the first few games though, stupid trade rules.

Bol could have gotten injured the first game and never played again and I still wouldn't have regretted the pick at 44. Despite big's not working out in the league, not many come into the league that big, agile and able to shoot all over the floor like Bol Bol. If he works out in Denver even in limited minutes off the bench behind Jokic Denver are going to be scary especially if Michael Porter Jr comes back with any of his previous talent.

If we drafted Bol and played him in limited minutes off the bench behind Bam like 18-20 a game he could have really improved our bench especially if he could come in and knock down a few three's and pull opposing teams backup centers out of the paint for our less talented bench players to get to the paint easier.

Bol may not be able to handle 30+ minutes per game with his body but off the bench you could get some real value.

Dion at least had an excuse for why he did not perform at his best last year, but JJ was very disappointing. I understand he was hurt, but he was making mental mistakes too that he did not make in his contract year. That comes down to time watching video and hard work learning the intricacies of a system. Something he is capable of, he just did not do.

As for letting the kids play, it’s time to see what a Bam, DJJ, Jrich, Dion, Winslow starting lineup can do. Winslows future is at either PG or SF. No more of this multi-role including PF stuff. If we need another PF, we should stop signing Haslem and get a player that can actually put in minutes in the event of injury.

I can't wait to see Herro an KZ play in summer league. We have a good young core. I hope to see thier minutes up this year. Bring Dion and Hassan of the bench.

Yea', post-draft you generally have to accept what has happened, but when fans try to insult your intelligence to console their conscious it just rages me further.

Like 50% of the Bam hate died out the moment ppl stopped with the ridiculous Shawn Kemp comps, we gotta stop with the nonsense. It's going to remain ubiquitous for the next few months, so I'll remain unbearable til' then

So when Herro averages 11 pts, 51% 3pt% 4 rbs, we gonna call him the next coming. Like we did for Winslow last year.

Another general comparison for Herro is a Landry Shamet type player. Both can be great spot up shooters and can also operate out of the pick and roll. They both are able to make plays for others and have high basketball IQs. Neither are the greatest athletes and have to hustle on defense to be successful on that end. Shamet’s first year stats were in 23 min he had 9.1 pts, 1.7 reb, 1.5 ast, 43% FG, 7.1 FGA, 42% 3s, 5.0 3PA, 81% FT, 1.2 FTA.

I think he gets compared to Devin Booker a lot because they both went to Kentucky, and he is Herro’s favorite NBA player who he tries to model his game after. Bookers first year stats were in 28 min he had 13.8 pts, 2.5 reb, 2.6 ast, 42% FG, 11.4 FGA, 34% 3s, 3.8 3PA, 84% FT, 3.4 FTA.

Jamal Murray had similar numbers his first year with 21.5 min, 9.9 pts, 2.6 reb, 2.1 ast, 40% FG, 8.9 FGA, 33% 3s, 4.2 3PA, 88 FT%, 1.5 FTA.

There are definitely going to be some players in the lottery that don’t live up to expectations but Herro would be worth the pick if he comes close to any of those numbers in his first 2 years in the league. It will be interesting how he does with with the Heat early on.
