lol, I predicted he'd say this months ago, it's the same bs dog and pony show every year with Riley.
To be fair I had both Herro and Okpala around 15. A lot of us did. That is why a lot of us are excited about Okpala. The beef some us have about picking Herro was the fact Little and Langford were there. I had a feeling there was gonna be one surprise pick ahead of the Heat and it was in Cam Johnson. I'm good with Herro, I just question letting Langford and Little pass.

Giannis gained 50 pounds since he first entered the NBA. Maybe Okpala can gain 20.

Its up to Okpala to do so. He will have money to chose what his fitness life will be like. Hopefully he puts the work into his body, health and not be like Josh Jackson or OJ Mayo.

Okpala is one of the younger 2-year college players drafted in this year's draft. Culver, Washington and NAW are all older than him.

Yeah should be good, Taylor Horton-Tucker's 7'1 wingspan and large hands should give us a pretty good idea how well Herro is able to score and shoot against length.

Interesting to see Okpala and Herro were very good shooting from the corners. The Heat were particular bad on the left wing/corner particularly Richardson and Winslow who both shot 28% from there. Herro and Okpala combine shot 53% from the left wing/corner.

Every pre-draft analysis of kz reported him as super high character, we don't have to worry about him

Makes me feel better about his defensive stats.

Okpala was also on a team with bad spacing(31.7% from 3) so maybe he's better offensively than his numbers show.

Make playoffs and draft Okpala at 15. 6'9 220 scoring wing player. Sounds good to me

I am happy everyone is coming along the Herro pick and not feeding into the negativity.....The kid is a competitor and has game. I think most of the negativity revolves around the wingspan and stereotypes about white players in general.. Like being less athletic

I makes me laugh how all this draft "experts" hand pick certain players characteristics to support their arguments .. Tyler and Brandon Clarke's wingspan has been subject of many discussions however Coby White (Who was taken # 7) also has a neutral wingspan and all the so call experts have chosen to ignore that information.

I remember hearing about Devin Booker wingspan in anticipation to the 2015 draft.. How has his short wingspan affected his career?

They said that Tyler is a good but not great shooter, however these are the same experts that always tell you that free throw shooting in college is the biggest predictor of shooting success in the NBA. This kid shoot FT at 93.5 % at Kentucky playing packed arenas and a high pressure environment for college standards. That is Steve Nash, JJ Reddick, Steph curry level of free throw shooting. As a reference Devin Booker shoot 86% in college, Klay 82%, Steph 87%, Reddick 91.2%, Ray allen 78%.. I think you get the point

All players come into the league with shortcomings unless you are Lebron or Anthony Davis . However overcoming your shortcomings is what can make you a good or great player

I have been watching this kids games and I can tell you that I see a lot of potential.

He has a better body for basketball and seems more athletic than Luke Kennard ( Slimmer, more muscular and faster twitch) despite getting into the league a year earlier (Kennard came into the league after 2 years in college)

He is definitely a competitor and plays with an edge

He can make shoots from the 3P line but also midrange and has great touch on floaters. He is crafty around the rim and as he gets stronger he has a chance to be a very good finisher

Personally I think we got a really good player

A Western Conference scout, by phone Friday: “Athletic, got to the basket a lot, can defend multiple positions. But his finishing was terrible. I’m not sold on his shooting. The lack of basketball awareness was the major inhibiting factor [in the scout’s evaluation of Okpala].”

Hmmm, interesting.

Same. He's on my DND list. I prefer Okpala if we go SF anything after 10.
