Saric is the key to how last night will be viewed.
Hell immediately become the best PF they've started in years and I think there's still some untapped game with him. IF he does well and they extend him next summer this all probably ends up a win.

I'm on The Homie bandwagon. High IQ guy, good passer, fits the timeline-- let's see Monty work his magic here :D

The croatian twins to rule NBA if they keep Dragan.

Saric is a perfect fit next to Ayton on offense, both need to improve on D. Maybe Monty was pushing for this trade as he already knows Dario. He will add to the playmaking. Nothing to dislike with this acquisition.

It's a little ironic they traded away Warren on the same day they traded for Saric because I was rooting for Dario to fall to 14 in the 2014 draft. He went 12 but would have been much higher if he hadn't announced he wasn't coming over right away which scared some teams off.

His nickname is Super Dario. If we keep Dragan who is like a poor man's Dario, and he grows with him, we can call them the Super Dario Brothers.

Good article on 'The Homie'

Suns could use a little bit of his fire.

From the article;

"He’s learned to channel his intensity rather than to let it run amok. He still throws fist pumps with abandon, still gets in the faces of opponents, and is still known to get called for an occasional technical, like he did in Game 4, when he was also caught on camera appearing to say, “**** them all,” about the Heat. The hyperactivity that made his mother send him onto a court as a kid now sends him flying all over NBA arenas. The stubbornness that sent him into months-long fights with his dad now makes him a professional basketball irritant, someone willing to do anything to tilt the balance of a game in his team’s direction. All of this has led him here, to the second round of the playoffs, on a team with eyes on playing until June."

Honestly wouldn’t be opposed to keeping Bender if we aren’t trying to give the max to anyone in free agency.

Sure there is. He's a poor defender, and so is Ayton. It'll be a layup drill. With that said, he may be a good off the bench guy.

Yeah, he's not Tim Duncan, but I still like his acquisition for what he's worth and what he brings to the table. :)

When he played for the Sixers I loved his game, thought he was in the running for ROY,he really disappeared in Minny. Hoping it was System and role and here he can get his groove back.

High basketball IQ and great passing ability. His skillset as an all-around-PF is gonna give us a lot of options on offense. This player is underrated, hopefully he will have an increased usage on the Suns.

“Monty (Williams), he raves about his work ethic and his basketball sense,” Jones said of Saric earlier this month.

“He’s a young guy who’s been a starter and been in a very competitive environment and has thrived, so with us, we think he can be a mature veteran at the tender age of 25.”

According to Basketball-Reference, Saric is one of only four power forwards over the last 15 years to accumulate at least 500 assists through their first three seasons. The others who joined the versatile big were Blake Griffin, Boris Diaw, and Pau Gasol.

Certainly impressive company, and this statistic provides a glimpse into the upside still yet to be fully unearthed on the NBA level.

“(Deandre Ayton), for the first time in his career, will play with a bonafide starting power forward, so that will help his growth,” Jones said. “In his limited experience with Aron (Baynes), you can see how much of a sponge he is, so I think Dario will have an impact on Deandre and you’ll see a different Deandre because of Dario.”

You guys got a good Croatian for once, congrats. Big fan of Dario and Rubio, 2 of the best passers at their position and sneaky good defenders, especially Ricky.

Saric, on the end of his rookie-scale contract with one year remaining at $3.4 million, can be extended by the Suns before the season starts.

All of this depends on how much of a read the team has on Saric and if they can strengthen it enough through training camp and the preseason. That’s because the deadline for his extension is Oct. 14.

With over 1,000 catch-and-shoot three-point attempts to his name, Saric is shooting 36.6% on those looks in his career. That is a certified “good shooter” at 6-foot-10, and a big headstart for his offensive value with all the little things he does.

While Saric is more talented than he gets credit for, he’s still a guy who makes the most off playing hard and making smart decisions on the floor. He’s not creating his own offense, with over 80% of his field goals the past two years being assisted. That’s one of the lower marks across the league for a big, per Cleaning the Glass.

But what about creating for others? Where to watch for him to possibly blossom into that guy is playmaking. In his first two seasons for Philadelphia, Saric’s assist percentage ranked in the high 85th and 81st percentiles for bigs, respectively.

I really hope he works out and we resign him on a reasonable long term deal.
