Criteria is based on 5 highest paid players + picks. Lowry and Gay are old. I'd probably have been in the highest tier but I'm basically carrying a dead man in Thomas.

On that note, wouldn't highest ranked be a better metric than salary? Sga could well be my best player as soon as next year and he won't count toward my "future."

Pretty much...it's based on the six highest paid players per team. Lowry, Teague and Gay put Charlotte as the 13th oldest group in the game. Add in the negative score they get for the draft picks (only two firsts over the next three years) and that puts the Hornets in the second to lowest grouping.
