Orlando Magic Summer League Signings Thread/Roster/Exhibit 10 Speculation

Post#1 » by Howard Mass » Sun Jun 23, 2019 4:55 am

I am making this thread so we can discuss all the signing for The Orlando Magic Summer League Team.

This thread is exclusively to discuss signings, the Summer League Roster overall and if any of the players have signed Exhibit 10 contracts.

We can also discuss if anyone should be on the 15-roster or get one of the two two-way contracts.

Last year Isaiah Briscoe got a contract after an impressive camp before Summer League started.

Let's discuss and please post news of any Summer League signings that you see.

Not sure this years summer league team matters. No Fultz, no Bamba, no Okeke. Anyone that plays will have very little chance of playing big minutes for us this season.

Daquan Jeffries playing for the summer league team. Wears number 2 because his favorite player is Kawhi.

Bamba is playing

edit: I don't know anything but their summer league site with the dates has a big pic of Mo on it. Says the team will release the roster this week.

It says here that Bamba might suit up and Mike Porter will be playing.

We will have a great summer league team this year. Much better than in the past. Bunch of long skilled fighters. There will be a dog fight for Lakeland and two- way deals. I think we are one of the biggest winners of luring undrafted gems to play for us. STATS paying huge dividends.

Daquan Jeffries

Vic Law

Marcus Foster

Dererk Parson

So next Monday Salt Lake City SL starts
SALT LAKE CITY (May 6, 2019) – NBA summer league basketball in Utah will take a new twist in 2019 to be renamed the Salt Lake City Summer League – a four-team, six-game event hosted by the Utah Jazz on July 1-3 at Vivint Smart Home Arena.

The participating teams in the round-robin summer showcase in downtown Salt Lake City will be the Jazz, San Antonio Spurs and Memphis Grizzlies along with newcomer Cleveland Cavaliers.

Will be fun to see Sexton/Garland, Brandon Clarke/JJJ (Morant is out I think), Lonnie Walker/Keldon Johnson/Luka Samanic and whoever plays for the Jazz.

Frazier and Jeffries will be very interesting to watch. I'd love if one of those two were rotation ready.

All 30 teams will compete in MGM Resorts NBA Summer League 2019 along with the Chinese and Croatian National teams, marking the first time the league will feature two international teams. The 15th NBA Summer League will take place July 5-15 at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

With 32 teams participating, NBA Summer League 2019 will be an 11-day, 83-game competition that will have each team playing in four preliminary games. Following the preliminary games, the top eight teams will be seeded in a tournament that culminates with the championship game on July 15. Teams that do not qualify for the tournament will each play in a consolation game. Each team will play at least five games and as many as seven. The Magic will also face Denver on July 7 at 3 p.m. (6 p.m. ET) before taking on Miami at 1 p.m. (4 p.m. ET) on July 9 and Brooklyn at 2:30 p.m. (5:30 p.m. ET) on July 10. Tournament play will begin on July 11.

What spots do we need to fill?
Assuming we retain or fill for Ross & Vuc (replacements won't come from summer league)
IF we don't sign Vuc, I expect Birch to resign.

DJ/Fultz/??
Evan/Ross/Frazier
J.I./Wes/??
AG/??/ Okeke
Vuc/Mo/Moz

12 players/slots accounted for.
And probably want a vet for the backup PF spot.
Okeke will probably fill the 3rd sting SF spot.

So we're really looking for our 3rd sting PG?? (hope we resign Briscoe or MCW)

That's strange, I thought the league wanted to keep all the teams in the Vegas SL which was part of the reason why our SL was shut down. I liked ours because it would have started this weekend instead of two weeks after the draft.

Would be nice if BJ Taylor from UCF can show out and get that spot.
