I know this an unpopular opinion but I'm a big fan of DLo. Already was during the draft.

That was so dope to see RJ getting the whole intro presentation at The Garden.
Making him feel welcomed already.

Pretty sure no GM in the league trades Kyrie straight up for either unless the earth really is flat
Conley is better than Kyrie, as an overall basketball player. Kyrie can't lead or play defense, whereas Conley excels in those two areas. Kyrie is a better iso scorer, though.
Age is a factor why most GMs wouldn't trade Conley for Kyrie. You know most GMing goes beyond just stats, right?

Yuck! Vonleh is alright but there rest are trash. I'll take DLo over that any day. Plus, some if not all of those guys are eventually going to want to get a long term deal. They won't just settle for 1 year deals, eventually we will have to commit to somebody.
I mean here's the thing, the young guys we do have now are eventually going to be off their rookie deals and looking to get paid too. DSJ is going to want to get paid, we can only hope he becomes as good as DLo and if he does, well, what do we do then? Pay him the same money DLo is looking to get this summer?

KP and DLo both would make 27m as max players and DLo is not an impact player that is going to bring anybody a chip either so what difference does it make

So what once started as possibly the greatest summer in franchise history has now come down to hoping Kawhi signs a 1+1 deal and opts out next summer to do this all over again..smh

difference was KP effected both ends of the floor. Healthy, he had a legit shot of being a superstar. D-lo is not a efficient shot taker or maker and he doesn't play defense. U don't invest longterm in that.

The dudes worth that money arent coming here so we need to take our chances elsewhere. Even if you decide you want to move DLo later down the road hes gonna be a valuable player on the trade market so if we need to open up cap space for a top 5 free agent later down the road we can still move DLo who is still going to be young and productive and somebody will have interest in him even on a max contract.

kyrie puts up better stats than conley. that's the only reason that someone might think kyrie is better than conley. if you're able to look beyond stats, it's easy and clear to see why conley is a better PG than kyrie, at least if you need a floor general and want to win.
kyrie can score, that's about it.

DLo as a floor general, playmaker and a guy who can create shots for himself and others is still a valuable player. KP wasnt efficient either, had stamina issues, durability issues, had trouble guarding big centers in the paint, had trouble guarding smaller forwards on the perimeter. Yeah he brought weak side shot blocking but dude would get cooked plenty of times against certain matchups. He had plenty of weaknesses and queation marks.

Re: Offseason Thread: The Waiting is the Hardest Part
Willy Cauley Stein wants out of Sacramento. That would be another nice reclamation project to take on at the right price.
