I’m ok with the PJ pick. Not super sexy but a solid pick. I do like him as a potential future replacement for Marv.

I think we absolutely **** the bed in the 2nd round though. If we were intent on making questionable selections we should have packaged the picks and moved up a little.

So you agreed with me, but you still want to beef with me. Standard behavior.

Nope.

I didn’t say I can’t really judge then go ahead and judge anyways.

I have zero interest in “beefing” with you (what does that even mean? Is it a farming term? Are you a farmer?). I was just pointing out how ironic and contradictory your statement was.

Runs true with the sprinkle dust of disappointment and distain you generally flutter down over the franchise.

How could you possibly have never heard of that phrase? It is in no way, shape or form a farming term. I'm not sure I've met someone who doesn't know what that means.

In regards to your other points, I'm far from the only one who is down on this team, but I appreciate you singling me out as if that's the case. I also, to clarify, said "it seems like," as in "I get the feeling this could be the case."

I gave the draft a B. I don't know much about any of these guys to be honest, but PJ was someone I saw a little bit about leading up to the draft and it sounded pretty good. I think Mitch went for guys who had good size, could defend, rebound and pass with the potential to shoot from deep. I know his attempts were on the low side, but 42% from 3pt land as a big? I'll take that all day long. What would it translate to in the NBA? Maybe he can still shoot above 35% as a rookie from 3 and then it's a huge win (assuming slightly more volume).

Lots of great analysis from you folks here. I’ve been on the road, grabbing some articles and links when possible. Looks like I’m settling on a B- based on the following:

PJ is a good pick, and should be a quality starter for this team. I did prefer Sekou given the situation that unfolded, but believe PJ is the better player now and could be the better player long term. We needed a PF and he can be a great pairing with Miles.

I have higher hopes for Cody after seeing tape and analysis of his game. A starter? Not likely. A versatile player off the bench? I think he fits that for sure. Was a primary ball distributor at times, can shoot (hopefully gets better as his trend was in college) and defend some. His level of athleticism is good, which should prove OK at the NBA level. His ceiling is a regular rotation guy, 15-18 minutes a night between multiple positions.

I have little faith that our last pick will make it. Some good length and some skills, but he is too skinny with a frame not built to gain muscle and weight. There were some better players out there (I preferred Kyle Guy). Plus he was a degenerate shooting porn videos; that is a tell on character. Doubtful he will work hard enough to get close to sticking. Hope I am wrong.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.
