The moves they make shouldn't be about this year. They need to add guys who will fit into the team for 2020-21.
If you're not outraged, you're not paying attention.

Naw, we have a chance to win it next year. Even without KD I think we were going to win this past finals. We had game 6 until Klay went down and the momentum would have been all ours for game 7. If Klay can come back in March we at least have a shot.

I'm not sure if Klay can replicate shooting 50% on threes in a series after just coming back from ACL injury but I like your optimism :D

In all seriousness I think this team needs a "break" before they can do another Finals run and leave it all on the court like they have been doing for years now. It feels amazing to be able to say that btw.

5 years in a row of Finals runs is physically and emotionally depleting, particularly so because it's necessarily accompanied by a depletion of your bench. If we can get some post season rest next year and reinforce the bench(both through experience and additions) in the process it could catapult us into another 4 year run of championship contention.

Looks like we gave Adams permission to speak with the Lakers about a position in their staff.

Professional courtesy probably.

That said, possibly we’re looking for a fresh approach ourselves. There has been a lot of complaining about our defensive strategy of late. A lot of that is personnel obviously but that might factor.

Be pretty unusual if they refused permission. Not good for employee relations.

Yes and no. Often when a team denies permission it's because the employee isn't interested and doesn't want to be the one to say no.

I wonder how hands-on he still is with individual players at his age.

Because after Looney, we're not seeing much evidence of young player development.

I wouldn't want to see him leave. If nothing else he could train up coaches like Willie Green to impart techniques to young players.

I'd get it if Ron didn't want to be in the NBA anymore with the schedule and all but go to another team? That'd be a big fail for the W's brass.

The Los Angeles Lakers have received permission from Golden State to talk to assistant Ron Adams about a role on Frank Vogel's staff, league sources tell ESPN.

Either money or they did pass him over to name Luke and then Mike Brown as assistant head coach or the #2 chair.

Thing is, guys like Brown are there to be buffers between Draymond and Kerr sometimes. The players relate more to younger coaches.

Maybe he just wants a new challenge. Maybe the defense is slipping and the Warriors are interested in changing it up. Maybe a bit of both. Whatever the case, the Warriors have a culture of not preventing employees to interview outside the organisation. Don't see why Adams would be a special case.

Saw some tweet posted on the Celtics forum that the Warriors are "quietly" shopping Draymond.

Interesting, talk about a foundational shift if we move both KD and Draymond.

Woj claimed in his free agency special with Zach Lowe that the Warriors have not told Klay they would give him a 5-year $190 million contract.

Not that they won't, just that they haven't.

They don't have to wait for free agency to tell him. So if they don't present that offer when free agency starts, Klay would be willing to sit down with the Clippers.

In contrast, supposedly Warriors have been communicating with KD. Presumably there's not much to talk about as far as how much they will offer him, it's pretty much super max or nothing. But maybe they're talking about the rumored promise to honor his trade requests.

I hope they're not dicking around with Klay. If there was any doubt about his worth, that Finals series should dispel all of them. Not just his performance but his willingness to play after the hamstring injury and trying to play after the ACL injury.
