So, let's talk about style of play. The fast break, 4 out offense, and ball movement for Harris on the 6ers and Harris on the Jazz.
Conley vs Simmons:
-Simmons might run more. But Conley can shoot. Simmons doesn't let you go 4 out. Both are pass first point guards that move the ball.
Mitchell vs Butler:
-Both players run some iso. I think I'd take Mitchell's spot up shot. He's also gonna be less stubborn than Butler.
Ingles vs Redick:
-Both help you play 4 out. Neither runs all that well. But Ingles will move the ball like a point guard.
Gobert vs Embiid:
-Embiid is a new age center, but if I'm Harris, I don't wanna play with Embiid. He stops the ball and takes a lot of bad possessions. His 3 isn't really reliable. Gobert gives you picks and boards and help defense, without taking away from your offensive game.
I'm not that familiar with the 76ers offense. Sometimes it looks like they try to let their talent develop things, by putting the ball in Simmons or Butler's hands, and getting it to Embiid where he likes it. When defenders are sagging off of Simmons, or Butler is being head strong, or Embiid is making bad decisions, the playstyle suffers. But when Simmons is penetrating, Butler is doing everything, and Embiid is too, they are very strong. Jazz don't really run that much, at least not right now. If Harris wants to run the floor from the 4 position, that might be able to change. And he can expect a lot of ball movement unless Conley or Mitchell decide they wanna score. But I kinda trust Conley and Mitchell to move it more than I trust Simmons (because of having no jumper) and Butler (for being headstrong).
Is our playstyle case strong enough to justify the paycut if we give him a player option?
