Could Kawhi be looking to leverage a sign and trade with the Raptors to get him to the Clippers so he can have his 5 year contract-cake and eat it too? He's really not a healthy enough player to ignore $190 million.

I do not know all the new rules, regulations, and laws the NBA has created for this stuff. It's insane quite frankly. So I don't even know if that's possible.

Anywho....I don't trust Isola either but I still trust that he will meet with us and that if he meets with us, we have a shot.

Sign-and-trades are capped at four years and 5% raises, so he would earn the same contract via sign-and-trade as he could signing outright in free agency.

You might be thinking of the Warriors trading Durant story. In that case, the Warriors re-sign Durant to the five-year max and then trade him during or after the season to team X.
