Hopefully Nash spreads that love to the teammates too.

RJ seems to be a really great dude. Def coppin RJ Barrett gear soon.

Yes that is a bit crazy but I respect it. I’m very excited about RJ. I’m not worried about the jumper or work ethic but I am a bit skeptical about his lack of a right hand. He literally ALWAYS goes left. I wonder how he’ll fare against NBA defenses that force him to his right. But the kid has a star mentality and I have no doubt he’ll work relentessly on his game

The good thing about that is hes actually right handed so he has plenty of time to work on that

yes, that is kinda crazy. lol. you can't pass on zion.

but i don't think it's crazy to believe RJ will be a better pro. i think there are a lot of factors that could contribute to that. zion is under a lot of undue pressure to be this transformative figure in the league. i kinda feel for him. RJ is going to a bad team and may be asked to produce. expectations aren't that high from outside. he's probably going to be the hardest on himself, which i think is great.

i think RJ will contend for ROY. but i think all 3 of the first few picks will. there are some guys who went later who i really like, but i don't think they'll be carrying the weight the first three picks will. zion might end up with the lightest load depending on how NO's offseason goes. they seem to want vets and to push forward with jrue. commendable but iono
RIP magnumt

thanks for everything, thibs.

I feel like RJ will have more pressure next season. David Griffin already lowered expectations for Pels. But Jalen is right on the money. Its not even close. Zion is the most hyped draft pick since Lebron James. So if someone like Ja or RJ ends up being better than thatll be an enormous amount of pressure and criticism on Zion.

I love Zion and obviously I would’ve been excited but his body frame and style of play worries me. Hopefully he has Lebron type longevity tho.

I was watched 4 Duke games yesterday and am as hyped as ever.

The things that worries me is Fiz giving him too much freedom. RJ gets in trouble when he tries to do much aka forces bad shots. He is at his best when he lets things come to him and works as a facilitator. The talent, skills and heart is there with him. The biggest thing he needs is some guidance.

If we can bring in the right cheap vet as a mentor I think that could help a lot too (heard Vince Carter and that could be a good idea).

same. zion's body inherently concerns me. if it holds up, i don't see why he wouldn't be an unstoppable force. that jumper comes along and it's OVER. he and giannis battle on monster island.

i think he'll be plenty awesome even with an inconsistent jumper like lebron.

I'll predict 14 ppg 4 rpg and 3 apg I think that's a reasonable start for a rookie

Work ethics and such.

True, we need some vets in that locker room, and vets who can legitimately ball, no Lance Thomasses.

I'm not the biggest Millsap fan but some combination of Malcom Brogdon, Danny Green, Thad Young and Paul Millsap (not all four obviously) would be good for our young players. Maybe two of them, or even just one.
Yes and no, because some vets are only worried about their playing time or their next big contracts. Im talking about guys like dellavedova (who sexton credited as helping alot in the second half of the season), a richard jefferies type, a jares dudley type, high character guys that can play at most 15~20 min but their main role is to provide guidance to our young core.

i think if we don't bring in any vet FAs to take on the scoring load that RJ could def do 18ppg 5rpg and 4apg.

Is it a good idea for him to get into the habit of being a chucker though? I want him to be a high efficiency player. Im more worried that than his scoring, because he may turn into timmy ver 2

Barrett being ball dominate, on a weak offensive team, being so skilled, he’ll have the ball in his hands ALOT. I know it high expectations, but look how well he did without Zion. The Knicks is HIS team, he’s the man of the team. With the spacing being much more wide open in comparison of college ball, he’ll thrive. We surround shooters around him, unlike Duke did, he’ll be even better. I’m expecting a similar season Doncic had. If Barrett was on any other team he’d be spoken about as the next big prospect.

Probably. But I dont think youd be crazy at all to say you wouldve drafted him 2nd. Especially with us having 2 PGs drafted in the lottery and a free agency where two of the top 8FAs are PGs.
