18/11 per 36 minutes with a TS of 66.5%... at age 21. :o

Honestly, the more I think about it, the more I think this was a Shep move. There's no f'n way Grunfeld knew who this kid was.

If you think about it. The young guys off the WW and like UDFA and summer league invites were probably sheps doing while EG handled the picks and big signings and trades . If that's true. We've done pretty good in sheps part if he can bring the same in site to trades picks and signings we might have a good gm on our hands.we saw a difference in drafting strategy for sure this year

And going to that last tweet in FAH's post, if Sheppard makes it a higher priority to sign Portis than to sign Bryant... we'll know that it was an enormous mistake not just to choose Sheppard - but to hire from within. There's still the potential of him being loyal to positions taken while he was here - which is unacceptible.

I'm guessing Bryant is out and replaced by Wagner. Who knows though.

Good Lord! Well... at least you are consistent! Please don't take offense; I don't mean any. We are all capable of being completely wrong! :)

I_Like_Dirt wrote:The issue with Thomas Bryant ...He just doesn't see the game fast enough and isn't skilled enough by NBA standards.

I_Like_Dirt wrote:...even if he does turn out, we're talking maybe 10th man or something.

I_Like_Dirt wrote:The point here is that the speed of the game matters and that's where Bryant has had problems. ...he doesn't have the elite level read/react that is basically mandatory in the modern NBA. He could have it in the future, but he has a rather small window to develop there, because if he develops it in his late 20s or early 30s, which is still young with respect to life, it's going to be too late for his NBA career….

Again, please don't take offense. But, at the same time... own it! :)
Breaking News: In a shocking development, Wizards owner Ted Leonsis has sold the NBA franchise to a consortium of participants in a discussion board devoted to the team on realgm.com. Details to follow....

I would've preferred a slightly smaller number but market's crazy. ~8M/year isn't bad anyway. Hopefully we can sign Sato to similar deal.

$8 million per is dirt cheap under the circumstances - I'm thrilled! If they front-loaded it, it'll be straight brilliant.

The only other deal I've seen thus far for mid-tier guys that looks like a comparable bargain is Aminu to Orlando for similar money.

The cap is going to be $118 million in 2021. We can't expect prices to be locked into where they were two years ago.

Absolute steal. I'm very happy.

I only wish we could have inked him to a 4-year deal. 4/33 would have been even better. I'm totally comfortable betting on Bryant for the long term. He's a great kid, a real hard worker, and he's already a surprisingly effective player. He has all the tools to one day be a top 10 NBA center.
