I believe you are referring to Jeffery Taylor, who was starting to play pretty well for the Hornets in 2013 but tore his achilles. A year later he was due to return when the arrest and league suspension for assault on his girlfriend happened. He subsequently signed with Real Madrid, the best team in Europe, and won a Euroleague championship with them in '17-'18. The Rockets offered him a contract last summer, but he chose to stay with Real Madrid.

http://nevadasportsnet.com/news/reporters/caleb-martin-in-discussions-to-join-twin-brother-on-charlotte-hornets

“I can tell you that I am in discussions – it has not been finalized – but I’m in discussions with Caleb joining Cody in playing in Charlotte,” (Agent Eric) Fleisher told NSN. “That would be terrific.”

Caleb Martin went unselected in last Thursday's draft has been weighing his options since then. A potential deal with the Hornets would be more than just a summer league contract, Fleisher said.

Hey why not get the twins here together, instant chemistry, and needed for the clean out/rebuild to come. Starting to feel like Kemba is really leaning toward Boston.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

this supports the theory that we drafted the wrong twin ( we worked out the one we didn't draft)

so if you read the Stepien article and watch the highlight video and consider the fact that the Hornets grabbed him at 36 when he was widely expected to go undrafted, and that his size and skillset balance the team's otherwise miniature backcourt, I find it curious Martin hasn't signed yet. What up with that?

It's weird, McDaniels hasn't signed yet either.

It's MLB trade deadline day, and the first few words of that looked like Shams was breaking baseball news.

Just how bad did we get worked by the agent of our underperforming rookie that we also signed his non-performing brother? Meanwhile, two players we actually drafted still don't have NBA contracts.

they are cheap and super low risk and based on Cody size i am willing to take a flyer on him, that said Caleb is better of the two right now.

Cody Martin looks to be a consummate long-time backup in the NBA, as he’s a cerebral player on both ends of the floor with good functional strength and an improving perimeter game. Plus, he’s an advanced stats darling who didn’t receive as much attention as his higher-scoring twin brother while at Nevada.

Cody 12 ppg, 50.5fg%, 35.8 fg3%, 56.2 efg%, 76.3 ft%, 4.5 rpg, 4.9 ast, 1.4 stl
Caleb 19 ppg, 40.9 fg%, 30.9 3fg%, 51.7 efg%, 72.5 ft%, 4.5 rpg, 2.8 ast, 1.4 stl

Cody fewer ppg but shot more efficiently and nearly double assists
Caleb higher profile scorer made Mountain West First Team, Cody made Mountain West Third Team;
both made the Mountain West All Defense Team; Cody was Defensive Player of the Year in '17-'18

[btw Jalen McDaniels made the Mountain West 2nd Team

...begging the question who is the Mountain West Scout for the Hornets and how does he wield such a big hammer???]

I think it’s a good idea. Essentially we got two guys who were good to very good college players, athletic with length, and who are brothers that played together in school. The potential return on investment (1 second round draft pick) is high relative to the fact we have two players on low end contracts. If he’s guys can get good enough to be part of our 2nd team reserves that’s a big plus.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Sadly, Tyler would be the 2nd best big on the roster after his brother.

Read on Twitter

So this makes more sense... Caleb will likely spend the year in Greensboro and the roster remains at 13 (though there are rumors that Chealey has also signed).

Interestingly Cody becomes the third 2nd round pick to get a starting salary greater than that of 30th pick Kevin Porter, who took only 80% of his rookie slotted deal.
