not even important. rookie 6th man.

Damn, he really is gonna be James Harden

except if he's dope we don't foolishly trade him.

(and they really did have a starting spot for harden and should have just not been cheap with his money and role. lol.)

thanks for everything, thibs.

to be fair, don't you want due diligence? who had the crystal ball to know KD would be in this situation?

As a rational sane human of course I’d want diligence. So would all 30 nba teams.

The point is, Dolan is getting quoted publicly about it. This means he thinks Durant is signing elsewhere and is now trying to save face.

I hope the Knicks pass. I can't see paying Durant crazy dollars to rehab when his injury occurred while in the employ of another team.

So the Dolan news got out because:

1. KD is coming to Knicks and Knicks leaked it to show they did all of their homework.
2. KD is NOT coming to Knicks and Knicks leaked it to make it look like it was their decision.
3. KD is coming to Knicks and someone else leaked it to make Knicks look bad to try to change his mind.
4. KD is NOT coming to Knicks and someone else leaked it to make Knicks look bad anyway.

Do I have this right?

So If KLeonard says, get Butler to sign and he’s in.....will you guys be content with this?

I wouldn’t mind as long as we sign Butler for 4 years only. Give Butler the shorter deal with more money in years 3 and 4.

Is that even possible with Butler.

I don’t care if they give Butler a lifetime contract, give Kawhi whoever he wants

Anyway, we can only offer up to 4 years

Iguana = Knicks metaphor?

I hadn't really given it any deep thought on the metaphorical implications but if I were to maybe I'd say it was the lizard brained Knick fans.....

I stopped following him years ago, but this has to be one of the biggest reaches I've ever seen. Literally nothing wrong with an owner wanting as much information as possible before throwing a max contract at a guy with a ruptured Achilles...

I actually agree with him in part. Obviously, that's how teams are thinking but you don't want it in public as it's slightly embarrassing/damaging to Durant's FA bid to have it out there that we may be 2nd guessing.

I can't get behind that. I don't defend Dolan at all, but if it wasn't Dolan and the Knicks something like this wouldn't even be uttered. I can't imagine this having any effect on Durant's decision.
