Iguana = Knicks metaphor?

I hadn't really given it any deep thought on the metaphorical implications but if I were to maybe I'd say it was the lizard brained Knick fans.....

Too late!

Cap and I have already co-opted any explanation you could provide.

We're building an Iggyfied lizard army.

Now scram!

People* really discussing if you would pair Kawhi an Butler? Are you kidding me. In a heartbeat. That defense alone is worth max contracts.

I stopped following him years ago, but this has to be one of the biggest reaches I've ever seen. Literally nothing wrong with an owner wanting as much information as possible before throwing a max contract at a guy with a ruptured Achilles...

I actually agree with him in part. Obviously, that's how teams are thinking but you don't want it in public as it's slightly embarrassing/damaging to Durant's FA bid to have it out there that we may be 2nd guessing.

I can't get behind that. I don't defend Dolan at all, but if it wasn't Dolan and the Knicks something like this wouldn't even be uttered. I can't imagine this having any effect on Durant's decision.

The part I don't agree with is that I don't think it will affect Durant's decision. I think it's a deliberate communication that the Knicks are going a different direction.

We shall see.

They don't leak that if they were inclined to sign him, because they wouldn't be letting people know they have to do their due diligence before signing him.

That would be like saying "we will be looking into the need for water before washing our hands".

bondy's kids must love him

edit- he deleted it. said kd will miss year 1. suck year 2. and have an opt out for year 4 so even if he's healthy, you'll only get one good year out of him.

Correct.

As shammgod said, the other option is that this leaked accidentally but I find that less likely.

to be fair, don't you want due diligence? who had the crystal ball to know KD would be in this situation?

As a rational sane human of course I’d want diligence. So would all 30 nba teams.

The point is, Dolan is getting quoted publicly about it. This means he thinks Durant is signing elsewhere and is now trying to save face.

quoted? where?

Kawhi healthy and KD at 80% is East favs.

RJ or Knox third scorer. Mitch cleaning up.

Why would SAS go on he air and say that about the Knicks being cautious? Lol that’s something that could’ve waited until next week if he didn’t sign here. Dude is an idiot

I think some are looking the wink wink factor. If we made such an agreement, we have to sort of stick to it. In addition, we can't say "Hey, we are signing the guy, because we agreed to do so well before the injury".

I am not so sure this is a wise decision for the franchise, but I get sticking to the decision IF this is indeed the case.

The alternative is not signing a guy who we had a wink wink deal with, and running the risk of future FA's not trusting the organization.

Tough spot to be in, especially when you are trying to strengthen the way the organization is viewed by players. I am sure if this is the case, we were more sick than GS when the injury took place.... and they had a ring on the line.

EDITED TO ADD: Hi Shamgod.... :D

I like to dream just as much as the rest of y'all but Kawhi is NOT coming to NY. Its Clippers/Raptors for him and nobody can change my mind.

Also: Isola sucks.

it's hard to say. it also got out that the nets don't really want kyrie on his own. does that mean they're backing off ? who knows.

How ironic that literally right before KD opts out, we hear that Dolan and Knicks want to do their due diligence on KD and see medicals. And since it's the Knicks, this is a bad thing. Man the media bias is beyond bad....

What team possibly signing a player to that much money wouldn't want to see some medical info

Dudes on social media like grads whoever the F he is but he seems connected to the players is hinting Durant is going to the Nets because of Jay z.

Still makes no sense. Jay z has little to do with the day to day operations of the Nets. all of a sudden he swoops in and convinces Durant to go to BK?
