I am not so sure this is a wise decision for the franchise, but I get sticking to the decision IF this is indeed the case.
The alternative is not signing a guy who we had a wink wink deal with, and running the risk of future FA's not trusting the organization.
Tough spot to be in, especially when you are trying to strengthen the way the organization is viewed by players. I am sure if this is the case, we were more sick than GS when the injury took place.... and they had a ring on the line.

That’s what I said when he got injured, we had some sort of agreement, we’re gonna stick to it, it looks bad on us if we go back on it even with an injury like that.
But whatever the franchise decides, they decide. Tough decision glad I’m not in their position.
