We already traded Simmons man. I think it would have been a decent trade but not complaining.

Ben and Jimmy dont have enough PG minutes to share that TJ doesnt even play anymore.
If you just want a 3&D guy, get a cheaper 3&D wing

Or... the 76ers leaked the information 1st, because they don't want to pay Butler and they want the fans to believe it was all Jimmy Butler's decision to force a trade to Houston, so the fans won't be surprised or angry.

Not as the top backup, but he's worth bringing back as a 3rd string center if he'll sign for about $3M or less. 123-107 Ortg/Drtg, 24.2 PER. .663 TS%. Those are elite numbers. So he can't play against Toronto in the playoffs. We'll need someone else to fill that role. But we also need to win a whole bunch of games while Joel is resting during the regular season, and Boban dominates most opposing benches. Nobody else is going to produce those numbers for that kind of salary - even against bench units. Especially someone whose salary isn't going to eat into the MLE/BAE since we can re-sign our own guy.
As an aside... Boban went 4/10 this year from 3pt range (none heaves). If he really adds a 3pt shot to his game, he becomes even more valuable. Dedmon and Brook Lopez are both centers who suddenly learned a 3pt shot at age 28/29. Boban will be 31 next year - so it isn't an impossibility.
I'm happy to have Bobi back if he comes cheap as the 3rd string center. But we also need a guy we can rely on in the playoffs who won't get run off the floor. That means it would be good if the 2nd guy can play some PF next to Embiid along w/being the backup Center. That's why I'd look at guys like Maxi Kleber or even bringing Mike Muscala back.
I like Kleber, he can hit 3's and block shots.....but then again, we have a kid developing that also fits that dual 5/4 mold in Jonah Bolden.....so hopefully he improves over the Summer and can give you more consistent production off the bench without fouling out

Kleber would be the ideal. He can play center and provide some defensive anchoring when Embiid sits. And on offense he can play PF and space the floor along with Embiid, or play stretch 5 on a Simmons on / Embiid off unit.
I just don't know if the Mavs will let him get away, or if he'll sign for half the MLE. If we can get him for like 2/$10M that would be big for us.

Bev is an elite on-ball guard defender. He can take the pressure off Jimmy and Simmons or gives us 2 guard defender lineups. He also wasn't a ball handling PG for the Clippers, Shai was their playmaker, he was used offball.
As for TJ, that's been common knowledge for like 3 or 4 moths now. You're a bit behind on that one.

There are other guys I would want first, because of the reason you mentioned with Butler being able to play PG, but Pat Beverley is a really good player. He is a sold plus player on all the enhanced plus minus type stats the type of players you are mentioning are all negative players most likely just a question of whether you can get a guy that is averageish, mediocre, or awful. We arent going to get a good 3 and D wing cheap that's delusional thinking. Only way they bring a real three and D player in is letting Harris go and going with a cheaper option at pf and use the savings to sign someone like that. If they max Tobias Harris and sign Redick I feel like we will be lucky to get a quality back up center and maybe a guy like Seth Curry and then some filler like a Troy Daniels type someone that can hit a three and sucks at everything else. The money just doesnt work. Those guys are expensive I imagine guys like Danny Green, Terrance Ross, and Jeremy Lamb they are all getting at least 10 million per with a guy like Lamb having a chance to get into the 15 million per year range. Plenty of teams have money to spend there will be no deals.

So it won't be disaster scenario, but won't be best case either. We head into the season with a loaded starting lineup, but a nothing bench yet again.
Hope we can at least lure a Collison or Hill with someone like Vonleh.

LOL at woj...so what we're talking about?
It's not woj, it's daryl morey
It's genius. Blowing up the squad because it cant go any further by pretending to their season ticket holders that they're clearing cap space for an imaginary sign and trade. Rockets want those picks to rebuild, not to give them to us at all. Fun to think about, though.

Well, the nets didn't really have a backup C so anything with a pulse worked, though Bobi is very skilled despite his athletic limitation. Boban doesn't work in the modern NBA. He's just too immobile.

So you're telling me the guys that have screwed up every possible PR opportunity for the last handful of years and the guys that are too dumb to hide who they are drafting (At 24!) are savvy enough to plant media stories to spin the narrative?
I don't know man, these guys can't handle the basics let alone something with forethought and planning.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

You can believe they're dumb if you want. Sports franchises spin stories all of the time. That's why there is a PR department. Stuff like this happens before every trade to prepare the fanbase, especially when it's a popular player. You really think Woj and Shams have some anonymous deep throat connection in EVERY organization that's tipping transactions? Would is talking directly to PR staff about this stuff.
The 76ers this story. It serves them more to have this come out than it serves Houston. Conditions the fans and it let's a Miami know to get in on this.
