I’m going to keep checking in on this. I like following when guys throw stuff like this out there.

Keep us updated! Guy probably doesn't know anything but now you got me hypeeee

I normally ignore these “sources,” but he is clearly implying Ben is being traded, so at least he isn’t being completely vague. That makes following his accuracy worth it. If Ben gets traded, I give it to him. He tries to take credit for anything else, it’s BS.

Reading through the tweets, I think it would be hard to be more vague. He's posted things like "never said it was a trade" and "who said it's about the Sixers." I don't think the eye balls tweet in regard to Ben really implies anything when you factor in all the other responses.

Booker is recruiting so I doubt he's on the move. Same w/ Towns.

I heard Kuzma...which would be really dumb.

i wonder if they are planning on trying to get Kyrie for Jimmy?

also you just know Ben will come out shooting jumpers all of a sudden for his new team lol.

1. Kemba signs in Boston ruining any chance of Kyrie resigning there(because of #2). Could see Ainge/Boston willing to resign Kyrie to trade him for assets as soon as possible.
2. Brooklyn not signing Kyrie because there's not a basketball peer to keep Kyrie in check(even if they sign KD, he's not going to be playing for a year).
3. Kyrie goes back to wanting to play with Butler just like he wanted to when he was forcing a trade out of Cleveland.
4. Harris and JJ holds are released, Kyrie and Butler are signed and Ben is now marginalized even more when the playoffs come plus the roster is needed to be replenished with talent.
5. Ben is moved to the highest bidder(rookie contracts/draft picks), for example, NY could have their young guy to finally build around if the price is right.

Not a very big fan of Kyrie. Dude is a flake. That being said; if that scenario is actually possible it’s worth exploring.

I don't see how that logic follows. If anything that should make him a more valuable trade commodity, it just potentially makes matching salaries more difficult if trading for an established player.

...But yeah, thanks for confirming that the vague, silly rumor is indeed a silly rumor.

Much more difficult to match salaries with a rookie deal, and everyone trading for him knows the max is coming anyway. (If you are someone that doesn’t think he’s worth the max you aren’t offering enough to get him) plus there’s at least a small flight risk.

Well, it's either strengthening your team to make a title run starting next year or play with a depleted roster in hopes of getting a better haul next year.

This is where rookie contracts and future draft picks come into play.
For instance...
Simmons makes 8.1 mil this year, 76ers could expand the trade money by adding Smith at 3 mil or/and Bolden at 1.6 depending on if they liked players better than them.

New York could do a lot of different combinations that could include players like.
DSJ 4.4
Knox 4.3
Robinson 1.6
RJ Barrett 6.5
Ntilikina 4.9 (defensive specialist and that's it)

1st round picks..
Knicks, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023
Dal 2021,2023(top 10 protected)
And of course, some 2nd rounders...

Let’s (76ers) also include two future 1st rd unprotected picks while we’re at it.

More difficult to trade if you're looking for an established guy that's already being paid, sure. But I don't think a logistical issue reduces his trade value. Having that extra year at a cost controlled rate before paying him the max should make him more valuable in general. It certainly makes him more valuable to us.

New report saying Sixers may be open to the sign and trade possibility too.

The rational is: If Jimmy wants to leave, something is better than nothing.
Not a great news imho.

So is Russell a serious target for us now or no? I think him amd Ben would be great together tbh.

That source is Amick who literally wrote that IF Butler would want to leave, Sixers would prefer to get something, than lose him for nothing.

Not surprising. I always thought it was a bunch of horse-blank that they were willing to pay 4 players 30 million per year each.
