Dayyym, we get a flyer on Mo Wagner who has potential to be a decent stretch -4, Tommy doing that work.

Well, I guess they got another German big man, not the one that they were rumored to get. Wonder if they bring all three to Vegas since they are young. Bonga is just 19, Jones is 24 and Wagner 22. I can't imagine all three will be on the team this season.

Lakers gave up a 2022 2nd round pick.

I'm assuming they're getting absorbed into a TPE. Wizards are getting a 2nd rounder as well.

This is exactly what we should have been doing the last 2 years or so, obviously with better players, but we have a lot of TPEs and they should be doing everything they can to bring in these players and get picks in return.

Good trade.

I never understood the strategy of not picking up additional second rounders. Pick them up, draft some Eurostashes, and have a pool of talent in Europe that you can pick from and grooom all to yourself.

Initial research, Jones put up 11 ppg, 13 rpg, 3 apg (2.4 turnover per game). In his second season at New Mexico State.

Isaac Bonga is a 6'8 point guard who is 19 year old from Germany. Small sample size shows he made 5 of his first 33 shots (no 3s made).

No problem with the move. Didn't give anything up. Get some young players to groom. Maybe one works out. Maybe two. Use your 15-player roster wisely. EG never did.

Yup. The one thing we have is roster spots that we need to fill cheaply. Wagner makes $2M and Jones and Bonga make the minimum.

What's your thinking here - don't have the roster spots or we will trade one of them for something that fits better?

And Sheppard made sure that the pick is a 2022 2nd rounder , which will be the “double draft” year loaded with HS talent.

At this point I’m done arguing with anyone who compares Tommy Sheppard to Grunfeld. Anyone still saying he’s not capable of the job is just being a blind hater.

Wagner seems redundant with Johannes Voightmann though. Maybe we won't add Voightmann now.

Interesting trade...and we get to moonlight as the most hated team in the league depending on who L.A picks up.

Time will tell whether or not his draft selections are good, but at least he has the right idea that we should always be seeking to improve and upgrade our assets.

Well, I'm not really sure what we have on the roster but assume they will sign a veteran point guard like Cory Joseph to team with Sato, if he re-signs. Howard and Bryant at center now with Mo Wagner (assuming Bryant is back). Admiral, Rui, Robinson and the Garrison Matthews kid on a two-way deal. Troy Brown Jr., Beal. I guess they can keep all three but then you basically have 3-4 guys who are going back and forth from the Go-Go. There are rumors that they may be getting rid of Howard and will just buy him out. Oh, and I forgot Mahinmi. :nonono:

I doubt it. We would lead the league in centers if we re-signed Bryant, kept Howard and Mahinmi and had Wagner and Voightmann. Even Rui can play a little center in today's game. My guess is they get rid of Howard and attempt to dump Mahinmi somewhere. Nerlens Noel for the MLE?
