First the Lakers get gifted a max slot, now they get a meeting with Kawhi. It's clear to see where this is heading. We are screwed.

The developments in Toronto have increased the odds he doesn't wind up in LA though. Lakers are looking passed LeBron, and so is Kawhi - pairing with AD eases the requirements during the regular season. Playing in Toronto will end up being much of the same as it would for the Clippers and his camp realizes that. It's either back to Toronto on a short term deal or the Lakers.
i'm a Raptors fan and i thought i've seen the most dillusional fans ever in Raptorland but you my friend are beyond that.
Welcome to what we have to deal with all the time. Laker fans are insane.
I will be back to collect my receipts in a few days. I tried to tell you all. Instead, I get insulted and am told I am insane.

Re: Kawhi Leonard?
Kawhi meeting with the Lakers could be as simple as keeping the door open for a few years down the line. He might re-up with Toronto with the understanding they'll trade him to LA in a year or three, whenever he asks, along the lines of what was being floated about GSW and Durant.
By then, the Clippers could have moved on with other max guys. By then, the Lakers might still be in the market for Kawhi. Never close your options.

You seem to have issues with how the salary cap works. The Lakers can excecute the deal on July 6th as an over the cap team if they get a committment from a free agent prior to that date. At least before you throw out a ton of mouthbreathing insults you should fact check your mumbo jumbo garbage. I tried to be nice and come here to tell you that Kawhi isn't a moron, and Dennis is all about the money and that voice matters in Kawhi's ear, they would never dwarf his own career by joining the Clippers while LeBron and AD are on the more well known team in the same city, but think what you want. You'll see in a few weeks who was "kidding."
stop it kid. just stop. i know you're oblivious because AD heading your way but why on earth would Kawhi sign less than $30M per year to be #3 in a team who may not even be able to complete a 14 man roster? Even at that AD, Bron and Kawhi all had injuries in the last couple of years so if 1 of them goes... WHAT TO DO BAAAABYYY???
Getting your receipt will be the most glorious.

Don't kid yourself. The Lakers don't do that deal without a guarantee that someone is coming. And now all of a sudden, they get a meeting with Kawhi after Woj said they wouldn't. You do the math.

Oh, I think the Lakers do the deal regardless of whether they sign a max guy or 3 or 4 good players instead.
The guys they dumped are projects who are years away from making a playoff rotation, if ever. Lakers are in win-now mode. Desperately in win-now mode. AD is a UFA next June. Pedal to the metal even if it blows up the engine.
NOW AD waives his trade kicker, not before. But if LeBron blows out a knee and they only win 45 games, look out below.

Well I think you are but not for the reason Kawhi will join Lakers.
Its just against his personality..easy road to the finals..ring chaser/collector..if anything he would be lookimg to beat their asses.
So I believe he stays in Toronto for 2 years and if Lakers make it to the finals he will wait.
Also if Lakers sign third superstar their debth will be G league..
And in order to come to NBA finals both LBj and AD will need to play 90-95 games minimum. If they load management Lakers will not finish top 4 with scrubs..so they will need to play this season and looking forward to see how their body react to 100games challenge.
AD is injury prone and LBJ will be 36..
Now if they are smart they will use 32mill to sign 3 good players/shooters instead and that would be a different story then..but I am positive they are dumb and will go for the this superstar..

If you would do a bit of research on Kawhi and his personality you would immediate understand that if he wants to play in LA next season no matter what..he will rather sign with LAc as they are than with Quuen James and AD

You call call me dumb, or whatever else helps you deny the inevitable. I’m telling you, with 100% certainty that Kawhi is signing with the Lakers. It’s already done. The way Dennis is playing it right now is out of respect for Toronto.

You just confirm how dumb you actually are:)
Kawhi is meeting with both LA teams immediately on 30th and with Raptors last..why do you think is that genius?
Also listen to Ujiri press conference on youtube..listen the trust Kawhi has in Masai Ujiri,
Use Google to check Kawhis personality
If Lakers my friend do sign another all star it will not be Kawhi.
So you should be exited, but you are for the wrong reason/person.
And by the way lets see how LBJ and AD look healthy wise after playing their asses off in regular season to secure top 4 in the west..
Not to mention how will they look like going oit of first or the second round. They just cant afford any load management , west has 10 legit play off teams not evencpunting Zion and Pelicans and just to be top8 both LBj and AD can not afford rest..looking forwards..looking forward:)

Durant met with the Thunder last. Hayward met with the Jazz last. Dwight met with the Lakers last. LeBron met with the Heat last. There is a certain level of respect that must be adhered to in this business. You don’t need to preach to me about basketball games and why you think it’s not a good decision or whatever. It’s already over. Kawhi is a Laker.

Who was checking ID guys? Thought you were in charge down here. It was a 50-50 between two franchises who's fan bases deserve this.
James already stole Bosh from us to form his first big-3. If he steals Kawhi to form another one I'll turn from a lover to a hater real quick.
Not sure what you guys think, but I'm super nervous about this new cap space and new meeting with the Lakers. Lakers always friggin win. Things just got more complicated.
If I were Clippers fan I'd be even more nervous because not only do you have to pry him from the championship team with the lure of LA, but THEN you have to convince him to go with the Clippers over the Lakers. He goes to the Lakers it's an easy 3 championships... so lame.
Seriously, we need stronger security around here, Lakers weren't even invited to the party, and now they're sitting at the head table.
Who let this happen?

Meeting the Clippers and the Lakers on the same day says to me he's not signing with either.
Just a courtesy call, keeping the doors open for sometime down the line.

They are different situations. For one, you keep hearing in the media that Klay's camp is open to leaving if Golden State doesn't offer him the 5-year max? Have you heard the same thing about Kawhi? Yeah, I didn't think so.
Are you even following the NBA? KD has already relocated to New York along with his startup. There's been nothing but talk of him signing in New York with the Nets now the likeliest of destinations. Meanwhile, Kawhi is still in Toronto scheduling meetings. How are all those situations similar to each other? Nevermind the obvious fact that each player is a different individual with different motivations.
Quite a few of you Raptors fans are the ones coming over here trying to convince yourselves that Kawhi coming back to Toronto is a 100% done deal while everyone anticipates it's still a close race between our two respective clubs.
Never have I stated the Clippers don't have a chance or that it's a lock he's staying. I only replied to the notion that if he's taking meetings that means he's figuring out a diplomatic way to say adios. Which, if taking meetings is the only qualifier that someone is gone, then so are a million other guys.

Might be worth it to put some money on Dallas getting him.

They were never not going to be in the club.
It was incredibly naive for people to believe their dysfunction discounts them from being players in things like this. Do I expect them to sign him? I dunno. But I never confused "Kawhi would be silly to sign there" with "they have no shot".
