They were already named when they made it to me. My other child's name is Godzilla. Most of the time. The rest of the time his name is M.U.T.O.

He was an older guy and had some of the sickest handles. Tim Hardaway would come out and play him one on one for fun. Don't think I ever knew his real name. The kids had an obviously rude nickname for him. They called him Dah Dah. So that James Harden step back we refer it as the Dah Dah. And the first step you show the ball after a cross over between your legs, the second step you pulled the ball back behind your back on a step back to create space for a 3 point shot. Each step they would say Dah. Because that's the sound the deaf guy would make when he taught you the move. Dah Dah

I know it's mean, but a true story.

Might be the first story I have told here. Lol I known for telling a lot of stories. People make fun of it, calling me grandpa story time. Lol

That's incredible. Thanks so much for sharing. That brought a story of my own to mind.

A few years ago I worked for a week at a camp at a pretty big D1 school. The coach (a former duke player if that narrows it down) brought in a professional wheelchair basketball team to do a little clinic for both the campers and the other coaches that were working the camp. About halfway through their session they revealed that they brought extra wheelchairs with them and wanted to challenge all of the coaches (the coach of the school and myself included) to a quarter of a game of wheelchair basketball.

To this day I will say without a shadow of a doubt it was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. They beat the snot out of us and were rolling circles around us like they were the Globetrotters.

Just so amazing the talents that this game brings out in people, no matter who they are.

Oh this is bad, can we not do this?
What do you all consider or define as "first step"?

To me to say someone has a good first step means that they are quick and athletic enough to gain an advantage on their defensive opponent after their initial step towards the hoop. Step backs, side steps and things of that nature that create space I would consider to be good foot work. To me Curry has a good combination of footwork and ball handling skills but not a great first step he usually uses ball screens to create that initial separation and then creates using his ball handling, footwork and shooting ability.

Klay I would say doesn't have a first step or great ball handling and has good footwork. I'd say he gets most off his offense from off ball movement and off ball screens. The times he does get a step on defenders is usually when they are closing out on him and already at a disadvantage.

I've really warmed up to Tyler's potential as a high-volume shooter. Still skeptical of his ability to get to the rim and finish inside, but I think more highly of his potential to be a high efficiency 20+ PPG scorer. Envisioning a 22-4-4 on 47-40-85 type player.

Tyler is going to have to get in peak shape to be a performer in the NBA. Best thing the Heat can hope for his rookie season is 20 mpg and just have him run around on offense, wearing out defenders until he can get an open shot, Reggie Miller and Rip Hamilton style.

Wayne Ellington attempted to fill this role, but defenses were able to figure him out. Spo needs to design an offense that prevents this from occurring for Tyler. My confidence on that is low tho.

Ellington just couldn’t put the ball on the floor. Seems like Herro has potential for that. Definitely has to tighten his handle some more though.

We should focus more on Herro's efficiency rather than how much he scores during this upcoming season. 4 or 5 players are going to get their shots before him.

I think he could develop into a 15-20ppg, 3rpg, 3.5apg on 45/40/85 percentages mostly playing off the ball if he can get more than 25mpg. Would love to find out though that he could be a secondary ball handler and have the ability to make plays as well as being able to play off ball. If so then I could see that jump 5ppg and 2.5apg

**** that, don't want to see Dion and JJ chucking.

I want Justise, Bam, Rich, Herro, DJJ to take the offensive reins. Try things out, play free and aggressive.

bro there are like 10-12 players in the entire league that put up those numbers. (25-6-3). That's a crazy projection for Herro.

I hope you're not disappointed if he sits around the 14-18 PPG mark

Just finished watching this video. Really interesting.

However, I think it's important to note that Kentucky actually has an offense, whereas the Heat don't.

On the other side Herro will struggle at the rim with a slow fisrt step, subpar hops, and very short arms...he will get blocked alot and will turn the ball over when pressuered by long nba athletes...

Could be a belinelli, ellington type of player with better handle and passing...

Efficiency at the rim is mostly about skill and technique for guards, not athleticism and short arms.

Nah I wouldn't be disappointed. I'm just saying if there's aspects to his game that we didn't see in college due to playing a role on Kentucky I could imagine those numbers increasing. You are right though 20-25ppg, 3rpg and 6apg is probably an overestimate, lets go with max 18-23ppg, 3rpg and 4.5apg. That better?

With Winslow and JRich/DJJr on the court with him I don't see his short wingspan being a problem for the most part, teams will have to decide who guards who If we have 3 guys who are 6'6-6'7 and other teams have guys who are 6'2/6'3, 6'4/6'6 and 6'7/6'8, teams are going to have to pick their poison with us defensively. They can stifle Herro defensively with their bigger SG/SF but that just means one of JRich or Winslow has the size and strength advantage on their PG. If they put smaller PG's on Herro like I expect teams to I think he shoots much better against those guys.

Also with Bam, Winslow, DJJr and JRich backing him up on those blow by's I think we are able to hide that to an extent.

Herro's shooting looks nice in this game.
