Agreed, and yet I'm anxious for the "last" installment featuring Kong and Godzilla.

Skull Island is one of my favorite movies of the last few years.

Skull Island had no reason to be good, and I loved it too.

Anyone watching Dark on Netfix? German show so it's dubbed over something that I don't love but it's not too distracting. I'm half way through the second season and it's a bit confusing but good. Really helps if you google a family tree to help keep the characters straight.

You can watch it with subtitles instead of dubbing not that it will help with the confusion much.

Great show. Haven't started season 2 yet.

I've tried both ways and preferred the dubbed version. It's funny when you have both subtitles and dubbed they don't match up at all because they used two different interpreters.

The family trees you can find online were a real game changer for me and really helped keep the characters and timelines straight.

Cool show and it took a crazy mind to write it with all the interconnected pieces.

Good Lord why another Ghostbusters? The reason the original is beloved is because it was quirky, fresh, and had Bill Murray and Dan Akroid in their late primes. The idea itself is not anything special. The last reboot showed people are not excited about this. Also, there is a new Fast and Furious movie coming out. How many ways are there to film a car jumping off a cliff in to a helicopter?

What are all these creative people who “go to hollywood” even doing all day? Other than plagiarize 1988?

Well there is certainly a difference between watching a movie on cable and finding it entertaining, and green lighting another Ghostbuster movie no one is asking for. Right?

What exactly is your point, that Hollywood is going through a creative hot streak?

No, that people still like some of the reformulated, rehashed, remakes, and reboots that they are putting out there. Some are decent. Most are junk. Also, American audiences like blow-ups and stuff. As long as people are paying money to see them they will keep making them since they are relatively low-risk money makers.

To wit: the most recent Ghostbusters reboot was a mild success with critics and meh to hated by fans. It pulled in almost $230 million worldwide in gross ticket sales on a production budget of $144 million.

Haven’t started season 2 yet, but yeah, whenever I mention Dark to anyone, I stress how important it is to remember character names because you’re missing half the show if you can’t remember who is who.

Agreed. Not everything is The Wire.

So yea, got through a rewatch in anticipation and I really enjoy S2. It's finest moments stack up against those from S1 imo, plus Bob Newby and Billy Hargrove are two incredible heat-check performances.

Early reviews coming out today for S3 seem glowing. I'm **** giddy

Can’t workout if I like Euphoria or not. The webcam scene in the last ep was ah...something.

So I binged stranger things over the last day.

Spoiler:
overall it was pretty good, but there were some things that annoyed the **** out of me. For example how does Town Sheriff Hopper not only fight well against elite Russian KGB agents, but actually gets the better of them on a consistent basis. Also at the end why do they need to count to three to turn the key ? why wouldn’t you just say turn it and then it would be over ? Btw how does a women inside a secret Russian military base not raise even a **** eyebrow?

It’s fiction I know, but some of this **** is just so annoying and poorly done.

They are working for Netflix, Hulu, HBO, etc. Original screenplay programming, outside of a few established directors, like Tarantino, is dead as studios can make their easy money rebooting Godzilla and Marvel for the global audience.

Spider Man: Far from Home
Pretty simple review (really just basic thoughts on the movie)

Spoiler:
1st half of the movie sucked

They stuck with trying to "fake out" the audience with hero Mysterio way to long (seriously anyone with basic knowledge of the character isnt going to be "tricked")

Once the "fake out" ends the movie picks up

Tom Holland comes off more annoying then anything else with the "not sure about filling IM shoes" arc of the story

This is seriously not MJ in any sense of the character (Flash Thompson sucks also)

2nd half of the movie is really freaking good though

Happy and Aunt May dynamic was good comic relief

Thank God JK is back as JJJ

Why cant the MCU just have one hero with a secret identity?

Just saw Far From Home. Loved it. Yeah, there are some plot holes, but truthfully, they didn't bother me. I figured that JB Smoove was going to have a larger role than he did, but he was a fun addition nevertheless. Gyllenhaal was dope.
