It's an overpay but it's not exactly terrible. He fits with their roster. Gives them a guy who can get 15-20 a night on decent %'s and can guard decently well. I don't get the vitriol towards it. They don't really have a go-to scorer outside of Bagley and he's still so young. Barnes can help. They have their foundation pieces and he's a nice fit around them. It's too much money but that's FA for you.

The way I look at it is - look around the league and think about what you would have to do to move the player if they stay at the same level of player. If the majority of the teams around the league would require an asset to take the player it's a bad contract. If the majority of the teams would give an asset to take the player it's a good one.

This is a really bad contract.

They had a chance to swing big and you spend 20% of your cap on this mediocre dude who won't even close games for you.

You're better off using that cap for assets than locking it into that deal with that guy
