Re: Kawhi Leonard?
A couple of posters have already been warned.
If you keep it up, you may be sitting on the sidelines during free-agency.
If you have to ask yourself if what you are posting would be considered baiting/trolling, you probably shouldn't post it.
If you want to present a counter-argument in discussion with valid points in a respectful manner, that is fair. If your sole intention is to rile people up with little jabs and no substance, then you are in violation.

look how his producer turned "leaning heavily" into "coming'
this is how fake news is done
David Pingalore's bio says
- “Ping” says his biggest thrill as a sports anchor and avid golfer was getting to know legendary golfer Arnold Palmer. The two played nine holes of golf together at Palmer’s country club in La Quinta, California.
In 2001, he flew along as a passenger with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels.
Pingalore graduated from Jacksonville University the same year that the Jacksonville Jaguars started playing games in the NFL.
Those are pretty impressive credentials. I believe him!!

Re: Kawhi Leonard?
If true, this looks like just a courtesy meeting. Can't do any business.
https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/254519/Kawhi-Leonard-Requested-Magic-Johnson-Attend-Meeting-With-Lakers
Still curious how much time he's giving the Clippers to do their dog-and-pony show. A whole day or half? Or it could be he doesn't want or need one. Doc, Jerry and Steve all have their reps, and there's really no surprises in store.
Except...Kawhi might want to discuss who the Clippers might round up to be his #1a. I would. But if he wants to come home and doesn't want to be the 3rd wheel on the Lakers, it really doesn't matter, does it? We're it.

- Kawhi Leonard requested the presence of only Magic Johnson and Jeanie Buss attend his meeting with the Los Angeles Lakers. NBA rules forbid Johnson from being part of official team meetings with prospective free agents.

Re: Kawhi Leonard?
With KD out and Lakers traded for AD, i've got a hard time seeing Kawhi choosing the Clippers.
Kawhi joining the Lakers would turn them into the next superpower. If Lebron says all the right things, basically, "Kawhi, you da man, im just here as your sidekick. You're now king of the NBA, i'm just along for the ride to pocket some chips."
If Lebron debases himself before Kawhi.... i dunno if Kawhi wont be swayed and just choose to go.
In LAC, without a 2nd superstar FA, there's no real draw for him to come other than the organization. The Clippers post Sterling has been very well run. But the Lakers are known to overpay their aging superstars loyalty deals. We all saw how insanely stupid extending Kobe was, but if Jeannie Buss straight up says, "win us some chips, we'll overpay you in your sunset years". She's already proven she's WILLING to do that already. That has to be attractive in a way the Clippers havent shown the same proclivity to.
KD getting hurt changed everything

I don't think anyone would believe Lebron if he said that. Lebron thinks he's the best player ever. He's been a control freak in everything he does. Either you want to play with Lebron and everything that comes with it, or you don't. Lebron and his proxy Clutch Sports have engineered this entire situation.

Re: Kawhi Leonard?
I think Kawhi is open to hearing all the presentations. It will be about how the teams are built around him, his doctors, load management, and how the team is built to win. I think the Clippers have a real chance here.

Honestly, this whole thing is just getting tiresome at this point. The NBA needs to move free agency even earlier to get this drama over with quicker in the future.

FA in all sports should start one week after the season ends. Give players and teams up until then to decide on options.

Surprise surprise that the landscape isn't a two horse race as twitter suggested all year.
SOFA KING surprising. Who would have EVER guessed that other teams would get into position after the season was over?

Actually the NBA is now pretty much a year-round entertainment product. It's genius.
TRAINING CAMP: Late September
PRESEASON: Early October
SEASON: Starts late October
PLAYOFFS: Start mid-April
FINALS: End early June
DRAFT: Late June
FREE AGENCY: Starts July 1
SUMMER LEAGUE: Starts July 6
August, the worst month of the year, is off
but FA signings will still continue through September, getting ready for...
TRAINING CAMP
You turn on sports talk radio right now--the offseason--and it's at least half NBA
all free publicity
and it never really ends...
no way they mess with any of it unless it's to cut the regular season down to keep the players and the product fresh
and if they cut the regular season down, it's an indication of how well the league is doing that they can afford to

I could not agree more. Make a 2 week period that encourages everyone to make things happen. If I was a big name free agent I would get a nice hotel room in a Vegas. I would schedule 2 hour meetings with each suitor. I'd be eating and gambling by 6pm and have a deal by the next day. There really is not that much to talk about for some max guys. They already know most the contract numbers. You can only plan so much. Things (including players and coaches) change fast in pro sports.
My eyes glaze over when reading alternative stat (not advanced stat) narratives that go many paragraphs long. If you can not make your point in 2 paragraphs it may not be a great point.

Better yet, have a "meeting period" before free agency opens so that the market doesn't slow to a crawl while the big names take forever to announce their decisions.

This. It's ridiculous that after the season ends, teams and soon to be FAs technically still can't communicate.MartinToVaught wrote:Galloisdaman wrote:MartinToVaught wrote:Honestly, this whole thing is just getting tiresome at this point.
