He’s looking lithe and strong. I don’t care what sort of athletic freak Capela is, if we trade Marcus we will regret it.

100 pct. Rob Williams is on the Capela-ish track anyway. I don't want to trade Smart to hasten the timeline by 2-3 years. He's improved every year, I'm ready for him to take another leap and be prime Kyle Lowry/Chauncey Billups in short order. Both were thicc point guards who struggled shooting, then figured it out and hit their prime around 25, kept improving for years after. Smart will be 25 this coming season; I'm ready.

In all my humility make this guy captain I'm sick of no captain it's brings people to a unspoken order. Marcus for captain of celtics petition needs movement.

Agreed on Smart & R. Williams.
I believe that both have upside. More so for TimeLord.

Smart qualifies as a Captain. He's been on the team the longest.
Plus, he just has that Grit, that's needed. And he's not belligerent about it.

I hope he's here, this team needs his edge. My favorite player to watch play, I love hustle and defense.

I doubt Ainge would trade Smart for any lesser reason than the need to make a deal work for a major star.

If I turned out to be wrong about that, my opinion of Ainge would be substantially lowered. It could be worse than letting Posey or Tony Allen walk, and clearly exceeded only by Olynyk-over-Giannis.

There are some posters on this board who would love to see Smart and Brown shipped out for just about anyone. Never understood that.

Wow. The Marcus in that interview looks so much more mature than I remember him. I always loved Marcus, but he just seems at ease there. Maybe I'm making too much of one interview or maybe I missed his evolution the last couple of years, but it's a big change from what I remember about him.

I was hoping he’d be our starting PG rather than being stuck in another logjam with JB to get on the court.

Agreed, it's time to make Smartacus the captain. He exemplifies everything there is to being a Celtic. He will be their de facto leader this year with or without a title.

Smart has some of the most diverse highlight videos I've ever seen -- dunks, scoop shots, 3s, outlet passes, halfcourt passes, blocks, steals, charges ...

After this season, the LAST thing you do is trade Smart, I’m open to trade Brown for a great piece tho.

I LOVE watching him work. HIs quick strike aggression reminds me so much of Rodman.

It has to be frustrating to be on the receiving end of those plays. Can't trade this guy.

I mean you all know how i feel about Smart, dude deserves the captain title. He is one of the easiest to root for players to ever put on a a Celtic uniform.

Marcus Smart made a large improvement last year, hopefully he continues to grow and doesn't regress but the player he was 2 years ago was very limited. If he continues to improve he will be a very valuable asset for us or for trading for a big. Before last season I would have kept Rozier over him, now I am for keeping him over Rozier if we are signing Kemba and only keeping one.

Fully agreed. Smart should be the captain. He's the most qualified, has been here the longest and he's loved by almost every fan (and hated by a few).

Marcus was one of these 3 guys (other two Al and Baynes) I didn't want leaving. Hope he stays as the real captain of the team. He's a true Celtics.
