Knicks been quiet the whole time and their plan is Kawhi and Kd from day one.

In the unlikely event that they sign here, then we can say goodbye to the Dallas picks. Trading the 2021 one would be a mistake but Kawhi and KD are not signing here if we’re gonna sit on our assets. They want to win now.

IF they do come, Knicks better not trade Mitch and RJ.

wow...we knew that's something the Knicks have wanted, but to hear that KD and Kawhi are thinking it too, that'd be insane

he's not so good that you should tie up a 3rd of your cap and that's what happens. even if his max is less than 7 year players or 10 year players, it still prevents you from adding one of them. so saving that money doesn't matter much.

the front office is taking the exact right position, if we can't sign guys who are going to elevate us to contenders we're gonna build through the draft again. i thought everybody hated dolan because the knicks would never tank, they did it for one year and some of you already gave up on it. it could take 5 years. it's no wonder they never do it. they know a large portion of the fanbase doesn't really want it no matter what they say.

- Him tying up one third of the cap is a problem I agree but who are we signing next offseason, or the following, or the one after that?

I get the idea, but this is where I disagree

Just because we don't think we can sign anyone in the next few years right now doesn't mean when the time comes we won't have options. When Tim got signed, we (myself included) used the same argument, cause none of us would've seriously thought we could've gotten KD when he left GS, or KD and Kawhi (which may be an option for us) at the time

I think it's always best to keep our flexibility when discussing guys like DLo who are good, but not great

Why? if they get those 2, they might decide they'd rather have a deeper team than a 3rd star. Plus, who's that 3rd star available for trade? Seems like Beal isnt available

Agreed, they can't empty out the entire cupboard but if there's any validity to Kawhi and KD wanting to pair up than this team would need to be competitive next season. I don't think leonard would want to waste one of his prime years just waiting on KD to return the following season.

Have to keep Mitchell, his defense is too important. He can be our rim protector for the next decade.

woj really knows how to ramp up the excitement. i was ready for the tank next year with or without kd.

maybe we'll still tank and give kawhi a heavy load management year. would he really take a year off to wait for kd when he could win another championship next year. i still don't see it. would love to be wrong though.

I think it was reported they might look to bring back Kornet. Hicks was just terrible, want him nowhere near this team

I’ve been thinking it was gonna be this for a while and with KD going down with his injury Kawhi was the first person who popped up in my mind who could relate to him.

All this Nets/Lakers **** is just for show and for the weak to get intimidated.

It’s down to the Clippers and ya whether KD & Kawhi are going, the Raptors are out the picture for Kiwi.

KD is much more invested in NY with all the business ventures and groundwork laid here in the city. There has been stuff done behind the scenes thatd make your head spin. It's been NY all along for KD. Kawhi hasnt nearly that kind of stuff laid out in LA (though he certainly likes the west coast).

This is why the Brooklyn stuff was somewhat concerning because KD would still have access to NY and his business ventures. But my understanding is a lot of the stuff is specifically MSG tied.

I honestly think that if Kawhi agreed to team up with KD it'd be in NYK. AND that would be incredible.

KD, Kawhi, Barrett, Mitch is not a bad foursome at all.

It's probably Kawhi doing the one and one with Toronto and then KD signing with the Clips or Knicks which of course would be the Clips because you know......Knixks, and then Kawhi joining him after Kawhi takes another run for a championship with Toronto.

What i need is they both sign with the Knicks on Sunday at 6:01 pm but again...................Knicks so we'll probably get Knicked.

Return to New York Knicks
