K-DOT wrote:The comparison between THJ and DLo is you're essentially overpaying a guy for one year of good production (or even half a year), while being young and assuming he grows to make the contract worth it

DLo is better than Tim, which is reflected in him going to cost us 27 million instead of 17 million

It's the same concept, applied to a better player for more money. I just don't see the point to it, we're probably still gonna be one of if not the worst team in the league next year, DLo isn't good enough to get us to the playoffs. If Dipo doesn't get hurt, he's also not an All Star. Then we're stuck into paying him basically 30 mil a year while being a (young) treadmill team, until guys develop. Better to just sit on the cap, tank, and spend it 2, 3 years down the line on a guy of DLo's caliber when we're trying to be good

He's not that good to be a can't-miss type deal

Thanks for the more succinct cliff notes version of what I've been ranting about.

And he MIGHT be excellent. Same for Randle. These are risks. Might be worth taking. Might not. Cant find out until after the fact.

Anyone stanning for DLo should be stanning for Randle too.

F*ck it. That's my FA wish list.

DLo
Randle.

Backup plan: Tobias Harris.

If, god willing, the Knicks sign KD/Kawhi it’ll be interesting to see how they handle the rest of their roster. Do they start making win now moves immediately even though Durant’s on the shelf for a year? Let Kawhi run with the kids for a year to try to up their value/prove their worth? It’s a weird spot.

This...

People have this idea that DSjr won’t make a big leap. Not sure why.

Ima just say it. A lot of the DSJ hate comes from the Frank stans. Not sure why people can’t like both. Whatever. Ima just let my guy prove them wrong next season. He’s putting in the work. It’s gonna pay off

Dinwiddie for something light would be cool w me.

This is exactly what I don’t get with you. You big up other team players that took a MINUTE to develop but then sh*t on ours when they’re still in their early stages.

I’m down on Frank because he’s so behind offensively and his shot mechanics & confidence are too far to repair. Best case, he’s a really good 7th man that can defend and hit the open shot.

Knox, I’m down on defensively more than anything. He has a chance to be good if you let him live off pindown screens off ball as a stretch 4. Make him a 3, and he’s a fish out of water.

I actually like DSJ, just hate the fit with RJ.

These players are definitely afraid of the pressure of NY if they choose the Nets. The Nets are the most irrelevant team in the league! Even with making the playoffs they still had lowest attendance

No Rozier. No DLO

Just keep the space for 2021 summer if we aren’t getting KD, KI, or KL

That laugh man.

I wouldn't even announce his name in the starting lineup on opening night. I would just play that clip.

HEZI wrote:Again people ignore the main point

Whether you want DLo or not, the point is he's a much better option than Randle. Ok fine, we don't need DLo according to some, but we are about to settle on Julius Randle. And explain to me how that is a better route to take? I'm still waiting

Why not both?

Both are positions of need. In fact, PF, more so.
Both are young.
Both have had one good year after working up to that with those decent young guy years.

Why is DLo "better" than Randle, when the team at least has one PG already, two if you count Frank, which I know you won't. But zero PFs

Why not lock up Randle as well? Or instead. I'm into the Knicks signing both now. I'm convinced.
