Retweet this to Tony Jones. Gotta get it on the Jazz' radar somehow!

What would the overall benefits be of the trade if we included Rubio to Indiana?

IMO they know. Those people are getting paid to know this stuff and know it better than anyone on twitter or any journalist. If they don't they shouldn't be employed at the highest levels of NBA team management. IMO they are not making noise about it because of one of several reasons - either they already have it worked out with Indy and are just laying low before FA starts, or they've talked to them and the price is too steep(for example - imagine Indiana wants a 1st in order to do that and are not budging on it. No way we do it for extra 4M of MLE exception), etc.

We'd have the full mle (9.2) instead of the rmle (4.8) to use. I think in this market, that's a pretty big difference in the caliber of player you can get.

Since Mirotic is signing with Barcelona, he’s one less option who we were going to pursue heavily. I still think we should go after Portis, Green, Ross and Curry/Satoransky. Mirotic would have been a great fit in Utah, but now we will never know his true potential.

Ok, that makes sense. That also makes a big difference

Thankfully we didn't get him.... I don't think he is the answer. I don't think he has played in over 60 games the last couple seasons.

We stay over the cap and get the full MLE rather than the room MLE. +BAE

I don't think we can use the bi-annual exception is we use the full MLE or the room MLE, can we?

If we could have got him for the right price, he would have been worth it. Anything over $14,000,000 would have been too high imo. I don’t think he would have got a lot on his next deal. That’s probably why he went to Spain, more money and less competition. On the bright side, one less risk we have to take.

I wonder how big the spain contract could be. I'm hearing 5-6 million.

According to this:
http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm#Q25

It cannot be used by a team that has already used its Taxpayer Mid-Level or Room Mid-Level exception.

We will be using the non-taxpayer MLE.

Anything less than $10mill is a steal. I’m just curious to why he’s leaving. He really made a name for himself here

It must be about how he wants to play basketball, and where he wants to live. He'll be gunning for league MVP I'd guess. That might be more fun than getting punched in the face by your teammates.

I'm a little relieved. I just don't trust him defending anything. But maybe I'm not being fair.

With that said, it’s time to pursue Portis lol
