I’m not kidding when I say that either. They’d be the trendy pick to go all the way, which eliminates them right there, the trendy pick never wins. They’d have zero depth, their 5th starter and entire bench would basically have to be d league guys. And Davis gets hurt every year and as LeBron gets older he’s more likely to sustain injuries as we saw last year. One injury and they’d be toast with their lack of depth. It wouldn’t be a super team it would blow up in their face.
If Kawhi goes there I’m going to be pushing that agenda all season long, just for bragging rights when they miss the playoffs I can say I’m the only one on the planet who saw it coming.
To say they won't win the title is one thing, but to say they'd miss the Playoffs completely is quite the take.
LeBron sat out over a month last season from Christmas to the end of January nursing his minor hamstring injury so his teammates, who would eventually be offered in a deal for AD, could boost their trade value with more playing time. Before he went out with this injury the Lakers were a playoff team, 20-14 in fact and 4th in the West.
The "Anthony Davis gets hurt every year" line is a myth as well. He played in 75 games in both 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 seasons, and then 56 games this past season because of the whole trade request drama.
I don't like the Lakers either man, but like mentioned before, Kawhi dragged a good, but not great Raptors team to an NBA title. Putting him with LeBron and Davis instantly makes the Lakers not only a playoff team, but a legitimate contender.
